Grubbs
RE: Grubbs Cemetery
Hi. Sorry I don't check in here as much as I'd like. When I visited this cemetery a few years ago it was pretty overgrown then as well. I didn't bring the tools necessary, but further, I didn't feel especially comfortable and was alone. I do want to go back and clean it up, but I've not made immediate plans. I'm a Grubbs cousin, 2nd or 3rd, to the family interred here. Most of my Grubbs are located in Albemarle. Thanks!

Thanks so much for contacting me with the correct location. I have moved the memorial. Let me know if you would like the memorial transferred to you.

Harold G Ely
Dear AnnMarie,

I am researching all I can find about my paternal grandfather, Gunder Anderson, and his experience in WWI. According to documentation, both my grandfather, and Harold G Ely, both served in Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division.

I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with my project, but I have aspirations of publishing something someday. Would it be permissible to use your photograph of Harold G Ely's grave should I publish something? With the 100th anniversary of America's involvement in WWI, I want to acknowledge my grandfather and those who served with him in some way.

Thank you!

RE: Tabitha Anne E. Nixon
I have Tabitha in there now, along with her maiden name, just not the Elizabeth. I do appreciate what you are saying, but anyone could leave a note like that. Thanks for all of your contributions! LG

RE: Tabitha Anne E. Nixon
I can see all that, but aside from someone putting a note without a source it's just that, a note. I'll correct it to read Tabitha, though, as the census reflects.

What is your source for the name change from Annie E. to Tabitha Anne Elizabeth? Thx, LG

RE: Perdue
The pleasure was mine AnnMarie. So glad to have helped find Andrew Jackson Perdue's grave and finally get a decent photo for you. Still chuckle when I think about how your husband and I struck up a conversation without knowing who he was :) Take it easy on those ribs and you will be dancing again in no time :)
