RE: Pochert Family
Hi Dorese,
I am sorry but I do not know anything about
Dr Rolland Pocherts family. He was my eye doctor for many years from the time was a child.
Years later when I got into genealogy and was
looking for obits in Owosso I came across his and
decided to add it to find a grave. The other obits were ones I happened on as I was searching
for my deceased realatives so I added those to find a grave also. If you know anything about
Darl I would be glad to search the sites that
I have a subscription for to see if I can find anything. You can email me direct at

RE: Carol Gilson
It was my first time visiting that cemetery. Wish I could have stayed longer and found all of the requests. Glad I was able to help.

Oscar Emmil/Ermel?

I found an Oscar Ermel (rather than Oscar Emmil)listed in Evergreen Cemetery records. He appears to have dates matching those in your photo request. Thought you might like to know he is buried in Section 13, Plot 46S but the records also indicate there is no headstone.

RE: Katherine Biesinger
More likely it's lichen that has been growing for a long, long time. Lichen grown is very common and some prefer the look it gives to gravestones. But if you wish, I'll clean what I can when I reposition the footstone, although you have to be careful and gentle with a stone this old. I only use clear warm water, a wooden scraper and a soft bristle brush. This should remove most of the growth although it will grow back over time. Fortunately this stone is an obelisk and not a tablet and looks structurally sound.

RE: Katherine Biesinger
Hello again. You were right, there is a small footstone present. Yesterday the snow was covering it and I just didn't see it. Today (we're experiencing unusually warm weather) more of the snow is gone and it was easy to spot.

I've replaced one of the photos I uploaded to the memorial with a new one showing the footstone in the foreground. But as you can see in the photo, another reason I missed it yesterday is only the top inch or so is actually visible above ground.

If you'd like, I would be happy to go excavate the footstone for you after the spring thaw and reposition it to how it originally was.

I did not notice a small stone. The cemetery does have snow on the ground although right around your ggmom's stone the area is bare and I think I would have seen it.

The cemetery is close by and I'll take another run over there tomorrow and make sure I didn't miss anything.
