I was born in Jackson, MS and graduated from Gulfport HS. |
In 2003 after living in CA for 43 years my husband and I returned to Florence, MS to live.
I became interested in my family history during the early 1990's. As I searched for ancesters in old cemeteries I was saddened to see the neglect and damage to beautiful old headstones and monuments so when I became aware of find a grave I knew that this was something I wanted to do. I get great pleasure in photographing and recording cemetery markers for people on FAG.
The iron marker in my bio picture is in Greenwood Cemetery, Jackson's oldest cemetery and was made by Pearl River Foundrey owned and operated by a family member in the late 1800's.
I am happy to fulfill photo request at Lakewood Memorial Park where I spend a great deal of time. It is a tremendous help if the section and lot number is included in the request. All request with the location are fulfilled first. The phone number for Lakewood is (601)922-2123. I must give credit and many thanks to my husband, Les for his help in searching for markers.
My Family names: Parker, Richardson, Winterstein, Switzer, Bell/Beall, Bradley, and Dorman. My husbands family names: Davenport, Arnold, Davis, and Stinson.

Thank you Fran for taking the time to photograph and post the photo of my late aunt Anne Shillinglaw. I hope that hurricanes Irma and Jose do not pose a threat to you. I remember how much my parents suffered when the big hurricane hit Jackson several years ago. Bhity@AOL.com

I know what you mean. I have dug out a few myself.
The wife and I prefer the older cemeteries to photograph. They are much harder to do but we like the challenge. Thanks for the transfer, now I can link them to others, Many thanks and tell the husband Thanks.

Mable Rena Applewhite (Brouillette) was my husband's Aunt. I am trying to attach her to her parents and siblings. If you would like to transfer management to me I would be happy to do it.

Lakewood Cemetery, Fran, you may want to delete one of these memorials, it looks like you have two on the same name. Thanks for all you do on Find A Grave

Thank you for photographing the gravestone of Lee & Marjorie Alford in Lakewood Memorial Park (Memorial# 89560370). I appreciate it, especially since this request was over a year old, and since they were AAFA members!
Thanks also for making a memorial for Marjorie and posting the photos there. I didn't know anything about her death but was now able to find her obituary.
