Debra, What is your user name? I can share my tree with you and then will be able to see what you have for the Anderson family.

Elkanah Anderson
Sorry about the previous message - hit return by accident in the subject line...I am looking at the Find a Grave site for John Anderson:

Do not see a son named Elkanah? Maybe I am misunderstanding your previous message? Thanks!

John Anderson Augusta VA
Noted a Colonel Andrew Anderson Sr. in command of the Regiment of Augusta County VA 1792-1794 (later elected to Virginia Assembly 1794) and a Colonel Andrew Anderson Jr., 1794-1809. Just a quick look up...nothing yet on John Anderson and if he served in the Augusta Militia.

Elkanah Anderson
Debra, on my message board dated January 2012 you listed the children of John Anderson (Revolutionary War and Block House Fame) and Elkanah was not listed...was that a mistake leaving him off the list of John Anderson's children? Please advise.

Yes, your previous input was of great help! John Anderson being born in Staunton, VA is the same place that I perform military drill - not sure but if John Anderson did serve as the Captain of the Militia at Staunton than that is the exact same unit that I currently drill with - it is now known as the "Stonewall Brigade" named after General Stonewall of Civil War fame. In the drill hall are dates of conflict going all the way back to the Indian Wars when Augusta was part of the Colony to Britain. Really strange...coincidence. Read a little about the Block House, really interesting!

Anderson and Harder Line Question
Debra, Who are John W. Anderson's parents? John W. Anderson is the one who married Sarah and later Elizabeth Whitwell. I think I missed something when you explained the Captain Anderson line to me. Hope all is well with you!

RE: Rhoda Bradfield Taylor
I do not have Rhoda Bradfield Taylor or Sara Taylor's obit. I have looked for the obit but have not found it.
