Mary J. Plunket - edit
Just questioning the bio for her father. It states the children and lists the daughter as Mary Elizabeth however the person you want linked is Mary J. with the maiden name of Cretin so the J is not for the maiden name but it doesn't match the Elizabeth either. Just questioning?????

Elizabeth Brant
In her mothers obit, she is listed as living in coalport. Obit, Unidentified Newspaper, Blair County Genealogical Society
Mrs. Sarah Nagle, widow of George Nagle, died at the home of her son-in-law, James Kaylor, 1305 ninth avenue, at 5 o'clock last evening. Last Wednesday, while coming down the stairs at her residence she slipped and fell. She sustained a scalp would of the brain and also concussio of the brain. Owing to her advanced age, the injuries resulted in death. Deceased was born July 5, 1808. Her husband died about thirteen years ago. She had been living in Altoona for ten years. Mrs. Elizabeth Brant, of Coalport, Mrs. Mary McNelis and Mrs. James Kaylor, of Altoona, and John of Ohio are the surviving children. Two sisters and one brother are still living, Mrs. Mary Christ, of Summit, and Mr Daniel Dougherty of Cresson. Deceased was a member of the Sacred Heart church, where mass will be celebrated at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning; interment in St. John's cemetery.

Note: According to her obit (Calvary & St. John's Cemetery Records with Obituary Copies Included, Altoona, Blair, PA 1893 - 1900; compiled by the Blair County Genealogical Society, pub. no # 121) Sarah Dougherty Nagle was buried in St. John's Cemetery, Altoona, Blair, PA. However, Cambria County RootsWeb, Cemetery Listing for St. Michael's Cemetery, Loretto, Cambria, PA there is a listing for: NAGLE, Sarah (DOUGHERTY) born, 22 Jun 1809, died 12 Jul 1897 w/o George (K - Rev. Ferdinand Kittell's "Souvenir of Loretto, Circa 1797-1899", which contains early baptisms, marriages and burials. Included in this book was a register of deaths, covering the period November 17, 1793 to October 10, 1899. Rev. Kittell gathered this information from church records and headstones at St. Michael).

Note: date of birth from obit differs from the cemetery listing for St. Michael Cemetery, Cambria County Website,

Elizabeth Nagle Brandt
I took a good look at my family tree on and your right in there must be two women by similar names. The E.N.B. I have, was not a Dougherty by birth, but her mother was. I have census records, family tree data etc. that show her mother as

Sarah Dougherty Nagle
Birth 22 JUN 1809 Lorretto, Cambria, Pennsylvania, USA
Death 12 JUL 1897 Lorretto, Cambria Country, Pennsylvania, USA

her father as

George Nagle
Birth 1812 Cambria, Pennsylvania, USA
Death 1884 Lorette, Cambria, Pennsylvania,USA

Now George was married twice, He was a widower with a pretty big family and married Sarah and had more children. I am still working on finding out first wife's data.

HI, I had a photo request for this memorial, and got a message it had been fulfilled. When I checked it the photo was a death certificate. Well I checked it out and it listed a different husband. It says Elizabeth was married to George. It also shows the name as Brand not Brandt. I think it might be the same person because of the father, but on the 1880 census it shows the name as Brant and the husband as William. wondering now if this is a different person. Thought you might want to know. Diane
