Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy and family history since I was 10 years old, and after many years away from it working as a school and agency administrator while raising an adopted family, have been thrilled with the advent of electronic searches for family members near and far. My focus is mostly on memorializing my family members who have gone ahead, so that my extended family can also see their history.

I will gladly transfer any Memorial Pages which aren't part of my extended family and close friends. Any photographs that I have personally taken and posted are available to be shared. After all, it's not about me; it's about them and their legacy.

A special thanks to all the awesome Find A Grave volunteers who work so hard to make these memorials and photographs available to the rest of us.

Selah Pickett, Sr.
I am trying to verify that the information you have for Selah Pickett, Sr. matches my resources. Can you send me your resources for the birth and death dates of Selah, Sr. Is there a gravestone in the cemetery and if so do you have a photo that you would share with me.
Thank you.

RE: John Walter Baltimore at the Oregon State Hospital
Janet,

I have traced down the Baltimore descendants ... all of them descend through John's brother Philip Baltimore who married my great grandfather's first cousins, so the connection to me is distant. Philip Baltimore is the only one of his parents children that had children. Of his children, some didn't have kids and the boys that did had daughters so the name Baltimore died out. Does the hospital actually have John's cremains? His brother William R. Baltimore was also buried there in 1891.

If there is anyway I can help I would be glad too. John's mother is buried in Salem in the cemetery off Hyacinth / Hawthorne near I-5. His father's burial location is not known.

re; John Finch (Find A Grave Memorial# 51624003)
I saw your 'flower' note on the referenced memorial that reads: "John Finch was a Revolutionary War patriot, who served in three regiments. He was born 20 Aug 1757 in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut."

Although Claude B. Thummel does tell us in his 1965 work "Descendants of John Finch of Connecticut" that this John Finch (Thummel #311-134) was born on August 20, 1757, if you do the math from his date of death, you find a different answer. By my calculation using a date of death of March 16, 1841 and using the age at death (recorded as 86 years 6 months and 26 days), I get a date of birth that is August 21, 1754. I can live with the difference between August 20 and 21, but 1754 vs 1757 is quite large. I wanted to make you aware of this discrepancy since you had added the 1757 year to your flower note. Unfortunately I am unable to advise you as to which year is correct (1754 or 1757, or is the year of death incorrect, or is his age at death incorrectly recorded).

Do you happen to know Col Willard Clinton Fiske's two grandchildren's names were? I'm trying to do my entire family tree, he happens to be my 7th Cousin 4X removed.

Obit for Charles Ignatio Smith
Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me where you found the obituary for Charles Ignatio Smith (1867-1897), buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery. By the way, I assume that cemetery is someplace in Santa Clara County, but you you mind terribly, please, telling where that place is?

Please send a reply to my e-mail address at InamMec@aol.com.

Thank you so very much,
Lorraine Escobar

Joseph Pickett born 1730
Thanks very much for posting this gravesite with information. I see that it is noted that Joseph Pickett was a Patriot of the Revolution. Could you tell me where that information came from? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes, that is correct, I am a descendant of Martha Skillings, she was my Great, Great Grandmother married to Benjamin Elwell, my Great, Great Grandfather.
