Bio and Links
Bio Photo I finally had to change my profile picture. The old picture of my youngest son was quite out of date considering he's going into 4th grade next year :( He still enjoys going out to take pictures with me so there's still hope for him!
There are so many old cemeteries in this part of NC so we are trying to post as many interments as possible to help all you researchers out. Also, most of the stones they used for markers in the 1800's are not standing up to the elements very well so it's a race against time to get as many pictures as possible. If you are looking for more NC relatives, I am working with the team of volunteers at They have surveyed and taken pictures of a ton of cemeteries in central NC.

One of the most popular questions I get emailed is asking permission to use "my" photos. The short answer is yes, you can use any pictures I have taken. I don't require references or accreditation because that's not why I joined the website and volunteer to take photos. I don't consider them my property unless you use them to somehow make millions of dollars (then I'd appreciate a small kickback) :)

August 2017

Work on Alamance Memorial Garden is going well. The last section I did was huge and really took a lot out of me. By my count there are about 6 more sections plus the mausoleum to record. Unfortunately work has gotten very busy so my spare time is gone. I'm so close to finishing it would be a shame to stop now...
Fun fact: I have approved around 14,000 edits since they switched to this new edit system. That's about 1/3 the memorials I have created! Great job fellow Findagravers! I typically get around 50 edits a day and I don't have time to investigate accuracy. I'm depending on the person sending the edit to actually have it correct. If I have something totally wrong just shoot me an email or send a correction and I will happily correct it.

James Herman Bush
I was wondering if you are possibly related to our family tree?
We recently did our DNA and found out my husband's mom was adopted and her biological father was James Herman Bush B- Nov. 4-1910- Gastonia, N. C. To John Edgar/Edward Bush and Catherine (Katie) Maier.
I have been searching for a single photo of James ( Herman Bush on Ancestry and I can not find one. I have reached out to family and no one will offer a photo. I have linked to other trees an there does not seem to be one single photo out there of James. I have his military records and still nothing. He died in 1966. So it's not like he didn't have a life.
I just want to help my husband and my grown kids know more about their grandfather that they never had the opportunity of knowing.
My husband's mom was Annie Joyce Bush/Clemmer. She & her brother Daniel Harvey Bush were adopted when their biological mother -Edna Annie Hansel married Robert Clemmer. We are not sure if there was ever a marriage between James Harvey Bush and Edna Annie Hansel or not. But all I know is that the family was not made aware that Annie & Daniel were kids of James- because I asked the daughter of one of James's brothers- through email contact.
She said there was never any mention of any kids. She also said that James and the only wife she ever knew of Eula, never had kids. She said Herman worked for a Mill as a sweeper and was a nice man. That's all I know except that he lived in Kings Mountain in N. C. and that he died at age 55 of an Acute sudden Heart Failure in Georgia.
My husband's mom died suddenly of AML- Acute Myeloid Leukemia at age 55. I have been going through all of the death certificates of the 9 brothers and sisters of James Herman Bush as well as the parents and down the line. What I have found is many died of Sudden Acute thrombosis. By looking through all of this background data in Ancestry, and studying the death certificates, and doing my own research has brought to to a frightening conclusion. My conclusion is that AML runs in this family. My husband's mom was a nurse-she saw the symptoms of AML, when most people would have just thought it was heat rash. But even seeing her symptoms when she did - was too late to do anything. Joyce saw her symptoms while out playing golf. She noticed tiny red bumps on her stomach. She went into see the physician she worked for at the time and he gave her weeks to live. Joyce was healthy, very active, very work out consencous, person who ate good and loved helping others. But she couldn't help herself, She lived 2 weeks. It was a shock.
Recently researchers have discovered there is a link between AMZl and Heart Disease. AML causes Heart Disease... the problem is you don't know you have Heart Disease because the symptoms usually don't show up until it's too late. Most people die of Suddent Heart Failure and the doctors don't really question it or do other testing to see the real cause.
I need to warn the family to get tested early. You can get a blood test to see if you carry the gene.

I also would love to connect to any family and get any photos of James Herman Bush.
My tree is Solomon_McGhee family tree.
My husband's name is Samuel Frank McGhee 111 & I'm Terri Solomon/McGhee.
I can be reached at classic8888 (@) gmail (dot) com
Thanks so much
PS I can put a link to the Article that had the research on AML and the link to Heart a Disease in next message.
