|I live in Katy TX and research mainly for my family. The names I research Darby, Hudson, Knox, Trammell, Smith, Owen/Owens, Green, Hartsfield, Hollan/Holland,Moore,Jordan/Jordon/Jourdan/Jorden, Warren, Wingfield, Barnett in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana as well as those that are tied in with them, Van Slyke and Price in Texas, Blakney/Blakeney/Cunningham in Texas and Illinois, Wilson and Tarpley in Illinois, Banks in Georgia, Alabama and beyond.|
I was raised by my Grandmother and Great Grandmother and listened to many stories of her home in Magnolia Arkansas and the large family there. She worked with our cousin Ben Warren for many years on genealogy in regards to Hudson and Warren.
I welcome any corrections and additional information.
At times I will add people to the site that I stumble across just so I can help someone else along the way.
Not all my listings are family so ask to see if a transfer is possible.

|John Mallory Land||Memorial #179311608|
Hi, Julane – I hope you’re having a great week. I am looking at your suggested edits on Mem. #179311608 for W. M. BARTLETT. I have found records to confirm that his first name is William and he was born in North Carolina. I have not yet found a source for the exact birth year of 1806. He was reported to be 44 years old (so born about 1806) on the 1850 census, and the Sexton’s record shows him to be 60 years old at time of burial (so born about 1805). However, the 1860 census appears to show his age as 46 years and is either overwritten by a stray mark or was purposely modified to say 49 years (which puts his birth at about 1811 or 1814). I wondered what your source is for that birth year?
Also, I do believe that Elizabeth is his wife, but I’m not sure her maiden name is DUSKIN. If she is the Elizabeth DUSKIN who married 1838 in Stewart County, Georgia, to William BARTLETT, then it seems to be a second marriage for at least one of them, as the daughters Eliza A., Julia F. & Phoebe were all born before 1838 (according to 1850 & 1860 censuses of Columbus, GA). Moreover, the death certificate for daughter Virginia (BARTLETT) CHALMERS reports her mother’s maiden name as Mary BARKSDALE. I suspect our W. M. is the William BARTLETT who married 10 MAY 1831 in Hancock County, Georgia, to Elizabeth BARKSDALE. My question at this point is whether: A) Elizabeth BARKSDALE is the mother of all the children and is the wife who died in 1893, which would mean that William and Elizabeth (DUSKIN) BARTLETT of Stewart County are a different couple altogether; or B) Elizabeth BARKSDALE died after the birth of Phoebe, and William married 2nd to Elizabeth DUSKIN.
Do you happen to have any records that might shed any light on this question? So far I have been able to locate newspaper death & funeral notices for only three of the children (Julia, Charlotte & Virginia), and these do not mention the parents’ names. Thanks again, and best regards – John

I saw that... I heard from John earlier, beautiful gravestone, so happy about that! Thanks for moving it up. You know he helped with my great-uncle too right? Quite a fellow. Rich.
|William Carlton Wade||RE: memorial 134861040 Dorothy's parents|
Sorry about the name mistake. Julane how do you know Dorothy's parents?
|William Carlton Wade||memorial 134861040 Dorothy's parents|
Laura, can you give me more evidence of the relationship of Dorothy to the parents that you have suggested. Wagner is not listed among the families that you are following. Also, it would be nice to have the mother's maiden name.

Sarah Alabama Caldwell Warren was married to W B Warren.
She is my wife's GG Aunt. I met Ben Warren at a Caldwell Reunion in the late 80s.
We were down at the Emerson Cemetery yesterday. Do you have any idea who George M Baker is?
