Bio and Links
Bio Photo One of the best features of Find A Grave is that it provides a forum where years of genealogical research can be shared with others. Please let me know if you have additional biographical or statistical information for any of my memorials, as it is always welcome. The wealth of knowledge that others have sent to me through Find A Grave is astounding.

If you are aware of links for parents and/or spouses that I have not yet added, I would appreciate it if you would use the edit tab to leave the name and memorial number of the person or people who should be linked.

Thanks to all those who have generously shared your family stories and beautiful photos with me. I sincerely appreciate being allowed to add them to the memorials for your loved ones. The pictures and studio portraits that for years have been carefully preserved in family photo albums, add such a wonderful dimension to Find A Grave. They help create a memorial tribute that is all the more special and meaningful.

Before asking for a memorial transfer, please determine whether or not this is really necessary. Transfers of management should only be requested if you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections even if you are not the memorial manager. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a transfer request. It would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire family trees.

Transfers will only be considered if they comply strictly with Find A Grave guidelines. You must state your exact relationship to the deceased. People who request transfers and then fail to improve and maintain the memorial are certainly not honoring the memory of their family member.

Bulk surname transfers will not be considered under any circumstances.

Unless otherwise noted, all bios on my memorials were researched and written by me. Post-1922 verbatim obituaries have not been included in order to avoid copyright violations.

I have put a lot of time and effort into my memorials on Find A Grave. I strive to make sure that the information on them is as accurate as possible, but I am realistic and know that mistakes do happen. Please use the edit tab to leave a message regarding any errors or omissions that need to be corrected.

By working together, we can continue to build Find A Grave into a better and better site!

Note: 30 Sep 2013 marked a very sad day for all Find A Grave contributors when the founder of this website sold us out to

I will continue to add to and maintain my memorials as long as Find A Grave remains a completely free website, open to all without charge.

William Arthur Benner

The death certificate says he was in St Louis Children's hospital for 2 months and 22 days. That is where he died. Poor baby. :(

I recently found the death certificate and grave of another son she had with her first husband, Arthur Benner. I suggested this edit to add them as his parents. I'm not sure if you wan to add this to the bio. I can provide the proof I found it you want to see it.
Thanks for all your work on here!

P.s. Katie is my great aunt.

RE: Richmond Morris Hawkins
I found one census that said that. I didn't find the other. If this is hammered down. The rest is very well documented. Are you on Ancestry? Are you related to Richmond as well? If so, did you get your DNA tested? I would love to work with you on Ancestry. My email address is

Richmond Morris Hawkins
I see that you add the information about Richmond Morrison Hawkins. I am his great Granddaughter with his wife Alice Isabelle McGill Weideman Hawkins.

Amanda Hawkins daughter of Bobby Hawkins, Youngest son of John W Hawkins and Connie Ballard Hawkins, Son of Richmond and Alice Mc Gill.

I am wondering where your information came from? In my research, I am having a hard time confirming his parentage. So if you can let me know that will be wonderful. I know you must know something about this family because you have so much detail.

Again, Thank you,
Amanda Hawkins

Hi Lynn,
Yes, the headstone order form specifies Hardin Cemetery on it. I have a jpeg of the order form if that is of any use to you.

Emil Mielke 78847944
Hi Lynn,
I tried to leave a message earlier but my machine crashed or FindaGrave threw craps. In either case I've found an order for a headstone for Emil Mielke for his service in the Civil war. I ran to ground his service record with the 2nd Regiment, MO Light Artillery. According to the headstone order he died Sep 4, 1875. This all happened in the course of trying to run to ground John Mielke who is listed on the 1929 Roll of Honor for Illinois Veterans. Do you know if john and Emil were related?

James B Jordan was my grandfather, he is buried at Hillis Cemetery. You posted information on him, his death certificate and information that found a number of years ago. I cannot find anything about Rhoda Ann Jordan his mother. You stated she lived next door and died at the age of 45, a widow. I cannot find a death certificate or a grave site. If you can give me information on how to proceed I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Thank you for updating his page to reflect the information for him that I had once had on my own page for him that I had been coerced into deleting. So many words can't be said, but at least finding a fellow team player is refreshing.
