"WE ARE THE CHOSEN"
We are the chosen. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes.
Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story.
FREE~~~~I have all the Genealogy books for Wapello County Iowa that are in print. Look ups include births, marriages, death, ,cemetery records as well as Johnson funeral home records and naturalization records and St. Marys Catholic church records for Ottumwa, Iowa.
Also obits from the Ottumwa Courier 1932~1987.
"You Can Always Tell Where A Beautiful Soul Has Been By The Tears And The Smiles Left Behind"
My Lanigan ancestors came to America during the Great Potato Famine of Ireland. Their first child Sarah was born in New York in 1847. Her father John Lanigan and her uncle James Lanigan helped to build the first railroad into Fairfield, Iowa. (name spelled Larrigan in 1860 census) Both signed up for the Civil War in Jefferson County Iowa at Lockridge, Iowa. Both were Catholic. They both settled in Ottumwa, Iowa and that is when my grandpa James Aloysious Lanigan was born in 1860.He married Anna Phillips at the old St. Patricks church at Ottumwa on the South side.

|Marvelyn Adams||Memorial 71609666|
This memorial is for Marilynn Edgeton. Are you relation to her?
If not, could you transfer to me? She is my mother's Sister.
|Linda Linn||RE: SIMON PICKENS CIVIL WAR|
I found him in several Iowa census records, but nothing about CW service in 1905 or 1915.
|llanggin||George Loveless #161648481|
I did some research on George. He was previously married to Alice Powell & he is buried in Shaun Cemetery. There is already a memorial set up there. He was born in 1864 in Illinois & dies Sept 9, 1918. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Crickbaum Burnaugh in 1916.
Please review to possibly remove your memorial. Thanks!

There is no record of Mary Guggerty being buried in the Ottumwa Cemetery. The notes on the memorial state that "parents unknown" yet parents have been linked to Mary's memorials. There is a Mary Guggerty recorded in Calvary Cemetery. Is this the same person? Please review. Thanks.

Yes any birth or marriage records for that family would be greatly appreciated.
I came across one of your transfers. Receiving a transfer can make a big difference or help in healing a broken heart. Thank you for your kindness in helping others out on this site.
