My name is Sharol (Heintzelman) Molland and I was born in Coquille, Oregon the day Pearl Harbor was bombed. My father and stepfather were both in the Army during WWII. I would like to find out if there is a possible genealogy link to General Samuel Peter Heintzelman, who fought in the Civil War. |
My interest in genealogy began about three years ago and somehow I ended up doing "Find a Grave" about a year or so ago. I am happy to help find relatives, if they are buried near to me. My husband has been ill so I don't travel too far away.
My brother and I would like to locate relatives buried in the midwest. We have discovered that we have our roots for the Heintzelman and Shere families in northern Illinois (Tampico and Joliet), and the Monica family in Michigan (Newberry area) and Wisconsin (Egg Harbor). We have found some information about the Page family in the Nebraska and Oklahoma area, however, we are unsure of where they originated from. Some of our family members ended up in Oregon, where we were born.
Since I've gotten older, I have found a walk in a cemetery to be rather comforting and peaceful. For every stone you see, there is a story of a life and experiences. I find a special empathy and interest in those that fought in wars and children lost too soon.

She is already linked to Paul.

I have found no obituary. The information for the Willamette National Cemetery memorials I add is primarily from the online VA Nationwide Gravesite Locator and from walking the cemetery.

Thanks for the obituary on Arlene Odegard. We hadn't heard of her passing and I will pass it on to our family.

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "old soldiers" that had ties to Vt.Luther Davis is one such patriot. May I use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave Memorial, to post on the Vt.C.W. site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

I am doing research for my cousin's husband Theodore Severson in Wisconsin. As I work back I find Otto Severson married to Anna Molland. You have entered some data on one of the family records. I am trying to find out the area of Norway that Otto Severson and Anna Molland came from. Do you have any information?

Thank you for taking care of all the edits I recently submitted for The Olson brothers and sister. I think we finally have the siblings all together which should help some others in the research of graves and their history.

I guess I rather just let it be. I don't live up home anymore and can't go to Eleva to see if there is a different Moen plot there. I don't feel comfortable deleting without verification and I have already taken over maintenance of the correct Moen's in Strum. Thanks for all you do. I have found a lot of good information via findagrave. I use it more as a tool that can point me in the correct direction and then get verification.
|Kathy Cox||Martin Moen|
The record of Martin Moen in Eleva shows that it was created by you. I just wanted to pass information onto you that Martin is my Great Grandfather and he is actually buried in Strum, Wisconsin. The picture you have posted of his headstone is actually "Not" located in the Eleva cemetery but in the Strum St Pauls cemetery. I just wanted you to know... maybe you want to fix this. I don't know if there is another Martin Moen buried in Eleva and this picture was posted accidently on this site or where the mix up is. There were two created for Martin and Mina both in Eleva and Strum. Both are buried in Strum and I am managing their sites. The Eleva ones are either someone elses or accidently created under Eleva. Thank you.
