|Let me start by saying that I do VERY MUCH appreciate anyone who has taken their time to enter memorials in this wonderful system. Without your contribution this system would not be as wonderful as it is today. If you are one of the great photographers that waits for the perfect light and gets down on their knees to take that close up shot I applaud you and thank you for your hard work!|
Something I have learned poking around here for a while now. It is pointless to enter thousands and thousands of memorials if you are not going to respond to update requests so the data you have entered is accurate. There is no badge of honor for keying in pages of cemetery books only to ignore correction and linkage requests for the individuals you have entered. If you are going to support this project please respond to the update requests quickly or transfer the memorial to the requestor so that they can make the updates. They obviously have been doing some research for a reason. Please don't be a roadblock here.
I normally post SAC update requests sent to me in 2 weeks. If the memorial has not been updated in that time send me another SAC request please because it is a good indication I probably missed or did not get your first request.
Another thing I have learned is it helps to park your emotions and hot buttons at the door. We are all here to support this project and help it grow and develop. Sometimes it is easy to loose sight of that common goal. If you are easily offended by a simple request or find that you begin to take feedback too personally try to remember this is a community and not just your own playground. For this place to work we all have to work together and that requires some tolerance from everyone involved.
I have been working my family tree for more than 30 years. Lost all my computer data and working to rebuild my files. Family names of PERSONS, BADER, COX, NEIMAN, SUTTON, EMERY, AUMBERIC, GUTTING, RAU, VanWORMER, and others.
Son of the American Revolution.
Photographer, Geocacher, and Waymarker.
Photographers: If you can, take a photo of the grave to the left and the grave to the right of your targeted grave and create a memorial for each if they do not already exist. Your photos are critical for this projects success.
Remember to back up your data! and ALWAYS have FUN!

Hello! Could you please call the cemetery 310/412-6500 and get the location of their graves? It is a really busy office and it really helps if we volunteers don't have to spend too much time in there. Also, it is difficult if we come in with a list of 8 or 10. Constant interruptions because the employee at the desk will stop and help others as they come in the door.
Thanks for helping us to help you!
Thank you for the Persons bios. Let me know if you want me to transfer mgmt to you.

I am just getting back into researching my family history. I was so happy to find all the information on Hiram Persons born 1821 and died 1899. He is my fourth great grandfather. I did notice that the website says his birth date is Aug 4, but the grave says Aug 5th. Just wondering if that is a typo or if you have additional information. Also, it says his parents were Danial Persons and Betsey Stannton. Do you have any documents to back that up? I am searching for his parents right now and it looks like people have differing opinions on who his parents are. Thank you for your help!
My name is Cheryl Loudenback and I am looking for information on James Loudenback (born in possibly 1802 in Kentucky or Illinois) that was married to Nancy Barr/Bare, children Lucinda, Jacob, Andrew and David, and a child with 3rd wife Sarah Allstop/Allstot, Mary. I have been able to trace and document as far as Jacob (my great, great grandfather)and siblings, wife, children, with accuracy, and that his father's name is James (my great, great, great grandfather) and information on 3 wives. I know he traveled in later life, with 3rd wife, Sarah, in tow, with his son, David and David's family and that he, possibly, died in Fort Scott, Kansas, while migrating west from Kentucky. That is all of the information I can find, and document. I was wondering, because of your posting, if you had any other information on him? Siblings? Parents? Possible sibling named John and Father named Abraham. I have no possible mother's name. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

I like to read the bio of folks who send me updates. Thank you for the last paragraph is yours re: taking photos of the graves to the left and right of the one you are taking. I'd like to add - just mow the whole row. It only takes a few minutes to create the memorials. Thanks for all you do!!!

These are apparently duplicate memorials for the same person. Your memorial is the earliest and most complete. Can you get them merged?

Yes I am so sorry about that

I have uploaded many photos, but never had them load in sideways. I even tried rotating the originals, with no luck. Please correct if you can. Regarding Charles who is listed with Myrnie, the dates did not match, this could be the incorrect headstone. If so, please delete and let me know, I will do some more hunting next time I am in Adams. : )

OK all done. I have posted the photos on the new memorials. Good luck.
