Bio and Links
Bio Photo I grew up in Phillipsburg, Kansas until the age of 10 and have since lived in different states and many towns. Last year, I moved back to Burr Oak, Kansas, the home of both my parents, their parents and their parents and so on. My roots are here and it has been very interesting to rediscover them and to help others discover theirs.

Got your suggested edit. Per Find A Grave guidelines, I don't post obituaries. If you are friend or family, I'd be glad to transfer the memorial to your care. Just let me know. Thanks. Debbie J. (#47977117)

RE: Faubions
No, you probably didn't see them very often. They spent most of their time at their farm. They only came to town when G'ma had bridge club, G'pa had Rotary, and on Sunday for church.
I'm sorry you lost your daughter. I never was blessed with children so I can only imagine the grief a parent must have. I lost a husband in 2009, Bernie Horner. He was a good friend of Patti's (he REALLY liked her) and they lived in your house after you left. G'ma and G'pa never seemed to grieve Uncle Joe (he never went by Denzel), but he'd been gone 10 years by the time I was born. I do know G'pa the only horse G'pa kept was an old ornery one that was Uncle Joe's. I was down in Rooks County the other day where G'pa owned land that was suppose to become his farm one day, too. Take care. Thanks for the interest.

Thank you for your interest in the Faubion graves.
You are Patti's younger sister aren't you? I am the former Rita Sigwing now Hopson. Bee and Wilbur Faubion were my grandparents and Denzel was my uncle. My mother was Betty Faubion Sigwing.

Baker Cemetery Burr Oak
Thank you for taking time to photograph this obscure little cemetery's gravestones. Though it is a small one, many older gravestones are located there, and Rev. Alger happens to have been my g g grandmother's 2nd husband, who died there. Tho I have visited myself, it was many years before digital cameras allowed such good images, and the one you've posted is a nice one.

May I have permission to include it in Rev. Alger's profile in my Ancestry tree? I'll give credit in the description.

Again, Thanks.

(my dad's family were old time Burr Oak and Esbon folks.)

according to my family records there should be a grave for him in the Baker Cemetery. He was killed in a gun fight by Roy Wilson on 3 July 1901 downtown Esbon, Jewell, KS. I would really appreciate any help confirming his grave. Thank you!

Faubion Family
I came across a message you had left for another contributor regarding the Faubions. I am a descendant Henry N and Eleanor Elizabeth Bennett Faubion, through their daughter, Eva and William Martin. Are you a descendant?

Hi Cindy,
Could you please delete the photo you added to the memorial for Dorthy May Waugh Platt, It is the photo for her stepson, James L. Platt.

Thanks so much,
