Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy work for over 25 years with brief intervals of inactivity when my life took different turns.

I love going to all the old cemeteries in South Georgia marveling at some of the old tombstones, some of which are quite elaborate and expensive even for that period of time, and thinking about how our ancestors lived. Since my husband and I shared so many ancestors (including at least three great-great-great grandfathers), it was an easy task getting information about our "kinfolk".

When my husband of nearly 40 years passed away in 2002 my enthusiasm for genealogy waned somewhat and I did little research for a couple of years; then I found the FindAGrave website and entered a few memorials. I absolutely love entering memorials and posting pictures of tombstones for so many of the South Georgia cemeteries which I have helped "survey" over the years thus enabling so many people access to this information. I especially like being able to link families and consider this one of the most important features of FindAGrave.

I believe when entering genealogy information one should always be open to criticism in order to get information as accurate as possible -- especially when it is posted on the internet for so many thousands of people to view. Though complete accuracy is so hard to achieve I will always strive for accuracy.....should anyone find incorrect information on any of my memorials please do not hesitate to advise. However, please keep in mind that other contributors have possibly given me incorrect information.

I am not the one who did this research so cannot verify whether her maiden name was Rollins or Bryant.

7/12/99 from Greg Wainwright:
To those searching for the ancestors of Jesse Lewis (1790 NC - 1849 Wayne Co., GA) and wife Millicent (1795 NC - 1869 Wayne Co., GA) I have a little bit of new information to throw at you.

My cousin Dennis Lewis just forwarded to me information showing that Jesse Lewis' wife Millicent (Milly) was daughter of Charles Rollings of Pitt County, NC. The same location that the Highsmiths, Knoxs, Wainrights, Coopers and a few other families of old Wayne County, GA migrated from. This should go a long ways toward helping us find Jesse's parents in Pitt County, too. It was not previously known where Jesse's or Milly's family had migrated to GA from. I will forward more information as it becomes available. Has anyone else seen this before?

"James R. Lewis, William H. Lewis, James Willis, John Ammons, Elizabeth Lewis & Susan Lewis of Wayne Co. Georgia power of attorney to James Highsmith of Pitt Co., NC to receive from William Ross exr. to Last will & testament of Charles Rollings dec'd late of Pitt Co. ..all due us. James R. Lewis is guardian for legitimate heirs of Milly Lewis to wit: Sarah, Hannah E. & Milly Lewis...Milly Lewis formerly Milly Rollings of Pitt Co., NC, the daughter of said Charles. 19 Nov 1847."

No Guts, No Glory
The Hall's
in Citra.

I went around and wrote the names and dates down, because my camera had died. I do not know kck, but she took the photos...unfortunately, I am unable to access my cemetery lists (if they were side by side, I would have written them in order) are in storage...I'll try to get back out there, but my mum has been really sick as of late, and I really don't want to leave her at home by herself.

I can not add anything further...happy taphophiling

According to usgwarchives, there is no record of Wiley after October 1864. I've been researching him for months but haven't found any solid documentation.

Are you related to Wiley? If not, would you please consider transferring his memorial to me? If you agree to transfer my member #47358719.
