Checked for your photo request today and was unable to locate them. They are not beside their children or at least there are no markers. There is room for 2, possibly 3 more graves there in the plot with them. Just a suggestion... check with Floyd's Mortuary. They could tell you who owns the plot and who is buried there as they hold the records for West Oakwood. They keep the records down in the basement. Most likely it is not on computer but they will pull the actual record. It's been a few years but they have pulled records for me that were older then what you are looking for. These records are held at the Floyds on North Church St. in Sptbg.

Great suggestion! If you don't mind, please add a note to the photo request for her father (or other family in the cemetery) so I remember to search the nearby area for her. I hope we can find her!

It's awesome to learn of your extensive HOBBY research. Hopefully, we can collaborate & share information as needed. My public tree is on Ancestry under member directory ID: marybarr4420
From my understanding, your 2nd Great Grandmother, Susan Ann HOBBY Sikes had a brother, Jesse HOBBY (1840-1916). She also had an uncle, Jesse HOBBY (1809-1863). However, my husband's direct grandparent 4 generations back, Jesse HOBBY (1832-1897), is a cousin to your 2nd Great Grandmother, Susan Ann HOBBY Sikes. Hence, my husband's Jesse HOBBY is your 1C4R. Four generations of a direct ancestor meets the Find A Grave guidelines. Therefore, we are asking for you to reconsider our original transfer request since our request is for a direct grandparent vs a more indirect & distant 1C4R. We would appreciate your sincere thoughts, consideration, & response.
Thx, Mary

You're very welcome. I'm happy to have helped, and I made sure to go out in the early evening when the heat wasn't too bad.

Take care.

You are very welcome. If you like, I can return and take a close-up of Mr. Lashley's. I don't know why I didn't, but this cemetery is just up the road. And I know what you mean. I just try to do what I would like done. Happy 4th of July!
