Bio and Links
Bio Photo I photograph and document the history of the Dunwoody, GA area in addition to my own Nantucket, Quaker, and Mayflower Hx. This includes photographing markers in these Cemeteries which are listed in alphabetical order: Bennett Rainey Family, Eidson Family, New Hope, North Atlanta Memorial (aka Laurelwood), Powers Family, and Stephen Martin. The graveyards I photograph are Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church and Winters Chapel Methodist Church.

I research the earlier families of Dunwoody including but not limited to those who benefited from the Land Lottery, many of whom with descendants in Dunwoody and Sandy Springs, GA today. Many of those who inherited this land are documented in Memorials here on Find a Grave.

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

RE: Minnie Tuggle
I see. You meant that she married a cousin named Tuggle, not someone with the last name of Cousin.

Minnie Tuggle
I think I need some source information to approve this edit. Minnie Tuggle apparently was married to Frank Tuggle and had two children who are Tuggles. Frank Tuggle died in 1927 after your suggestion she was married to Cousin in 1914. Perhaps there was a divorce before she married Cousin. Was Tuggle also her maiden name?

RE: Photos of the Copelands
I was heading there today to photograph some graves for a friend and happened to see your name on the request list. And I remembered the Copland/Copeland marker at New Hope.

Because some of the metal plates are numbered at Westview, it actually only took me about five minutes to find them once I found out what section they were in (it's 40 by the way). . 😊

I'm glad I could help you in some way.

Sgt. Clyde Thomason

Sgt. Clyde Thomason (1914-1942) was from the Atlanta area. He was killed in WWII. He won a posthumous Medal of Honor and is interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

Parents Sara (1879-1917) and Clyde Sr. (1879-1939)

My grandmother's maiden name was Mary Pearl Thomason (1905-1980) Sibling James Monroe Thomason (1896-1933).

Their mother was Rosa Thomason (1876-1921). They lived in Cedartown. Rosa was married to Robert B. Thomason. They divorced in 1907.

I am retired from the Marine Corps. I am very interested in finding out if I am related to Sgt. Thomason through my Grandmother Pearl Thomason Dowdy and GGM Rosa Thomason.

It would seem probable that there is a connection. I can't anything definite one way or the other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Charles Baker & Rosa Emaline Pope Baker
Hi Chryse, I don't know where Sallie Swann Baker Cheek is buried. Can I be nosy and ask why Dunwoody Preservation Trust is interested? Sallie's paternal grandfather was the only father figure in my great-grandfather's life. I made contact with the Australian branch of the family by posting info on Cobb Co genweb site, solving a mystery for the Australian branch.

She does not have a tombstone. She lays to the right of her husband. I have attached a photo showing the spot.
