I'm caught up on auto-edits to 2/21 and email edits to about 2/21. |
FYI - I bypass email change requests that point out a problem without a solution (such as stating I have an incorrect date without providing a correct date - requiring me to research). I'll get to them eventually but I process the change requests where the submitter has already done the research first. I get a tremendous amount of change requests...
I transfer memorials liberally - just ask. If you want all of a particular last name in a cemetery to take on as a personal project or if you want everyone in the same plot, I can do that too (as long as they are my memorials). I have plot information for most, not all, of my memorials. I've rethought this and have decided not to make out-of-guideline transfers to members who insist on guideline only transfers when transferring their own memorials to which they have no relation.
Thank you for all of the corrections.
Obituaries - copyright laws are murky in regards to obituaries and Find-a-Grave's new policies don't really clear it up. I prefer not to post a word-for-word transcription of a newer obituary - a summary is better. Regardless, I will remove names of possible living people (for privacy) before posting.
A good article can be found on the Legal Genealogist website HERE and HERE
Please don't leave change or transfer requests on my message board. It's extremely difficult to keep up with these types of requests and I miss most of them. Requests should be made with the edit button on the memorial
Looking for someone interested in translating Latvian historical records.

Hello! Since I can't figure out how to use the edit button ???? etc. I will write and hope you get this. I am hoping that you will transfer Christie Colby to me (buried in Madison.) I descend from her and her husband Asle (Kolbjorsen Orpen)Colby and have written one book for English speakers on our family. A cousin in Norway has written the Norwegian version and I just now found Christie!! (Do you know where Asle is by chance?) Ha!
I would greatly appreciate the transfer so that I can connect her with children, etc. Thanks for your consideration.
My Find a Grave number is 47497135. Thank you! Paula Barrett
