IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION FOR ME, EMAIL ME DIRECTLY OR LEAVE A MESSAGE IN THE BOX BELOW. IF YOU GO THROUGH FINDAGRAVE I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ANSWER YOU. If you have any questions about the memorials I have contributed to, please feel free to contact me personally. I may have more information. Findagrave does not like it when I post too much.I also try to devote most of my time to my living family. The dead ones have to wait but I think they don't mind too much. They aren't going anywhere.|
My name is Steve Lawsongatch,
I am a native of Clermont County Ohio. Most of my lines on my father's side have been in the area since the late 1700's. I am interested in history and I am generally available for look-ups and inquires about the local area. My personal ancestry in this area includes the families Gatch, Barber, McCormick, Curry, Stuntz, Lanham, Langtree,Orr,Aldridge, Paxton,Stiers,Houck,Plummer and Haynes,to name a few.
My mothers side is mostly from Monroe, and Belmont Counties in Ohio and Jackson Co. West Virginia. Those names include Mason, Rayburn, Workman, Crow,Hiett,Ball,Rader,Sommerville and Campbell.
My wife comes from the Lawson and Cox families in Whitley County Kentucky. We do alot of research of that area as well.
Feel free to contact me with any questions of my family lines or the cemeteries I have listed.I am more than willing to do transfers to descendants of memorials I have posted.

|Maxine Nelson||Peter Hastings|
I am seeking for information on Peter Hastings, b. 1762 in Ireland, d. 1848 in Clermont Co, Ohio. His wife jane 1761-1848.
daughter Mary b 1791 in Ireland md John or Jeremiah joslin.
Peter was a 'marrying preacher' performed lots of marriages.
I have a story about a Mary and Peter Hastings who come from Ireland. He preached to the ship passengers who were Papists. converted everyone but the first mate.
I also have a story about a Mary Hastings, similar dates who came to America after an unsuitable suiter tried to abduct her... got Sister Phoebe.
I'm trying to find out where in Ireland they came from. I would appreciate information. I have been researching her for 40 years.
Clermont Co history mentions a preacher Peter Hastings, and a hatmaker Peter Hastings. Were they the same?

Thank you for checking this out for me.

Sorry, but I have one more question. If you look into which cemetery Joseph is actually in, can you see if his wife, Elizabeth Roosa, is in the same cemetery? I would appreciate it so much. She is listed in the 3rd cemetery that Joseph is listed in. She died in 1879 which is quite a bit of time after Joseph.

I noticed that you posted a picture for this memorial. I'm confused because you posted this gravestone in two different cemeteries. The picture is posted in the Concord Church Cemetery in Concord (you added it in 2009). It is also listed in the Concord Methodist Episcopal Cemetery in Sundale (you added the same photo here in 2011 and made a memorial for it. Can you remember which cemetery you actually took the picture for this gravestone? Believe it or not, this poor guy is actually listed in an additional cemetery in Evergreen Cemetery in Miamiville. I'm pretty sure that one is not right at all. Anyway, I'm trying to connect Joseph with his parents and siblings, but I want to make sure I connect the right cemetery. I will then try and have the incorrect ones deleted.
Thank you so much.

I don't know the marriage date to Maebell and Bill Stephens but she had two daughters with him, Betty and Margie. Do you know anything about who Maebell's parents were?
