Hi Gina,
AP West 1854 Galena City Directory. I have a tree on ancestry. Send me your email, we need to talk. I have company here right now but can concentrate on this later this week or this weekend.

RE: Netherbury
I do not, I'm sorry. I was able to go to England/Wales a few months ago but was unable to go the places I wanted to, just a couple of them. Good luck with everything.

RE: Netherbury
MIs = Monumental Inscriptions.
You could try contacting the church, the Dorset History Centre, or the Dorset OPC. If you can get some names and dates from the burial register you can make memorials and put in photo requests.

RE: Netherbury
Dorset parish registers are held at the Dorset History Centre in Dorchester. They have the original Netherbury burial registers 1592-1678 and 1683-1857 plus transcripts, according to the 1992 catalogue. There were no MIs for Netherbury as of that date.
It is unlikely you would find gravestones from the 1600s, unless the Samways family were wealthy and had memorials inside the church.

RE: Netherbury
Hi Gina

The only thing close to a list, would be the burials listed in the parish records. I expect there would be few stones that survive, that is if there were stones in the first place.

Thanks

Robert

I just checked the parish of Netherbury is on line thru

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list

Once there go to England, Dorset click.

Dorset comes up and click on that.

Then a list of parish's appear and Netherbury is among them, going back into the 1500's. Warning, these are the scans of the original records and can be difficult to read.

Wishing you with all the luck.

Robert

Thanks so much for trying to find his headstone. You are undoubtedly correct in that he has/had no marker, but sometimes a photo of the area is just as helpful, as one can see the open space next to his wife. Your efforts are definitely appreciated.

John Webber & Sailor' Snug Harbor
I noticed that you had created a very nice memorial for John Webber, who is interred at the Sailors' Snug Harbor Cemetery. Are you a descendant of John? I'm also a descendant of a mariner who resided at Sailors' Snug Harbor and is interred at the SSH Cemetery. If you are interested in more information about recent efforts regarding the status of SSH Cemetery and the SSH Records, you can contact me at the email address listed on my member name profile.
