Bio and Links
Bio Photo Most of my memorial pages are for family. I also volunteer to take and upload photos for other members to their memorial pages. I often add plot location or other information in the photo caption. If you click on photo on the memorial page you will see a larger version of the photo where you can read the caption if one was added.

I occasionally take other photos and make my own pages to upload them to. If I have entered a memorial for a family member of yours, and you would like to maintain it, please let me know. I will be glad to transfer ownership to you!

A very handy way to find Milwaukee area death notices is to search digitized images of Milwaukee area newspapers.

I have had to remove the links to the Milwaukee Journal, Milwaukee Sentinel and Mil Journal/Sentinel. Apparently Newsbank bought the digital rights and Google had to delete access.

Hopefully there will be access again, my library is working on it but for now there is no online access.

They were also found in the "M" section of
Google News Archives

There are still many other newspapers available
at the Google link.

RE: This is a test
Memorial updates have a problem when the spouse has a zero in the marriage date. Give an error sometimes and won't let you save the edits.

Number of other problems I saw last week have been fixed.

When you try to added the same name it tell you what already there. It had a problem, in pressing add. I haven't check that since.

RE: SSND nuns
Hi Judy:

Thanks again for your help with the Koenig SSND nuns - and for ALL your help in documenting the SSND community.

My great-grandparents Joseph Koenig (Find A Grave memorial # 135236224) and Helena Hartmann Koenig (# 135230880) had five children, including three daughters. The eldest daughter was Wilhelmine "Mina" Koenig Weber (#162619581). The two younger daughters would join the School Sisters of Notre Dame...
- Sr. M. Felicia (#82374369) was born Josephine "Josie" Koenig.

- Sr. M. Mildgitha (#80239554) was born Kate "Katie" Koenig

Unfortunately, I never got to know the three "Koenig girls". They passed away before I was born. I was able to confirm the above names & nicknames using family histories, obituaries, discussions with cousins and census records. - Tim Koenig

RE: Josephine Haessly edit
Hi again,

I just found her California birth entry. She was actually born Patricia J. Alvarran. Note different spelling of last name. So it must have been Patricia Josephine and she didn't like her first name.

RE: Josephine Haessly edit

The A stood for her maiden surname. That's pretty common - I see that a lot on stones, where the true middle initial is actually something else, and the middle initial of the maiden surname is used instead.

RE: Spohn Family Cemetery
Please be aware the photo is not current and I am not sure when it was taken. Our local historic graveyard association has been very active in maintaining these cemeteries but it's hard to get around as often as necessary.

RE: Zimmerman's
You are most welcomed. Tessie was the loving Aunt of one of my sister's best friend all throughout her life. They died months apart. While I didn't have any plans of doing Tessie or her niece, I was in St. Adalbert's doing a relative memorial who was right next to Tessie niece Rita and her sister, brother in law. It was if they were calling me from the grave. So I am doing my best. I have had to ask my oldest sister who knew them best for I was young way back then. Keep up the great work,. This is addicting, isn't it?

RE: Clara

I'm glad to hear from you. Thanks for the emails and the photos added to Clara's memorial page. It's amazing what all is archived. I have the page amended accordingly and delete the duplicate pages. I hope, the memorial page is now ok.

If I can do anything for you, do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards

RE: Klara Poedtke
Dear Ms. Judy,
By a show on German TV I hear about Find A Grave. I was curious to see if an entry about Klara Poedtke is included. Klara or Clara Wilhelmine Poedtke born Göppinger was my aunt, the daughter of Wilhelm Göppinger and my father's sister. She was born on 02.12.1901 in Reutlingen/Germany and was already emigrated with 21 years to the USA. By the passenger list of Ellis Island (there called "Goppinger") she has arrived in 1923 ( She lived in Milwaukee, married Edward Poedtke an died on 15.11.1944. More I dont know about Klara, because I never have know herself personally. I hope to have served you with this dates. Need you more informations about our family?
