Hi Doris,Mary's page was updated with Charles' information today. Good news, I found Harriet & I've started the process of linking her to Mary & George W. Bowers. You have 3 children from Mary's first marriage. I did find that the 3rd child James died in 1870.
|MDWaterworth||RE: MARY BOWERS|
Hi thank you for the offer to take over her page, but she is not my relative. Her husband George is related - distant uncle. I did find his page & linked it with her page so her husband should be listed soon. George was buried in a National Cemetery in Kansas. He was a Civil War soldier in MD & fought for the Union. I also found their son Charles so I will connect him to the family tree. Charles and his wife had only one child, a daughter Dorothy. Finding anything further about George & Mary's daughter Harriet will be hard, if not impossible. Daughters seem to disappear I guess with the habit of after marriage being referred to as Mrs. John Smith. Not only did they lose their maiden surname, but their first name as well.
Again, thank you for the offer, but I will let you keep Mary. I did try to find out where her 1st husband was buried, but no luck. If I find him I'll link to your page.
I hope you enjoy your weekend! Pam

Thanks for the offer but am not a member of the family and don't know more than what is in a family book that was loaned to me. Hopefully, someone will come along that has a connection to her 'missing' husband or her children.

I declined to link Francis to a Mr. Abrams that was born in 1910. I think that you got a wrong number.
It does look like his dad was Elijah so I linked him up.
No luck in locating the location of Lucinda. Several people on ancestry had shown her as a Lucinda Babb what died in 1910, but that's not the correct person.

Thank you (again!!), Doris!!! :-)
P.S. I am glad to hear that you also had a childhood when it was not uncommon to go to cemeteries! You are also so correct in stating that some grave markers are very interesting to read!!

Thank you so much, Doris, for your message and for your offer to transfer control of Everett McVey and other related family members to me. Yes, I would sincerely appreciate this very much!!
Also, I have to tell you how VERY IMPRESSED I am with the number of memorials you have created in Find A Grave!! Wow!! As you might have read on my profile, I grew up in Iowa visiting the graves of our relatives on "Decoration Day" in May. Therefore, I am keenly aware of the importance of maintaining family ties with the deceased. In addition, I retired in July 2016 after teaching for over 20 years in funeral service education, and I am also a licensed funeral director and embalmer. With this additional background, it only intensified my belief in remembering the dead. I also know that Find A Grave has become an invaluable resource for geneaology, so it is individuals like yourself who have increased these resources by adding final disposition information for so many families!!
Again, Doris, thank you so much for contacting me!!

Thanks for posting.

You are so right and so many of them have dirt or debris covering some of the information and you can't read them. I'm with you, if you are going to take time to take that photo carry a small broom and flower trimmers. Doesn't take much.
Thanks for the tip... I'll remember that when I go out to take photos. Smile!

Thank you for the super photo of Levi's headstone, it is fabulous. How did you ever get it so clear?
Our family will think of you each time they view it. Wanda
