Bio

I have been an active genealogist for over 20 years and a "Find A Grave" contributor for over 18 years. Along the way, I discovered that my Thompson family has been in America since the middle 1600's. Proudly, I can count among my ancestor's and relatives, veterans from most major American conflicts to include the War for Independence, War for Southern Independence, WWI, WWII, and Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

I trace my interest in genealogy to my maternal grandmother, Hazelle Burdette Thompson, whose family was active collecting records when you had to do it with pencil, paper and the U.S. Postal Service. It was her family's tree that sparked my interest in genealogy.

I am a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, through Shearod Thompson (Find A Grave Memorial# 44316315), my 4th great grandfather. Shearod was a militia man and a private in the Continental Army. He fought at the battle of Guilford Courthouse and was present at General Lord Cornwallis' surrender in Yorktown.

I earned my D.D.S. from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and spent 27 years serving our country in the U.S. Army.
