Fallen Graver

Sadly, David Lander has passed away. Please consider visiting their Find a Grave memorial page and leaving some virtual flowers. Their enthusiasm for cemeteries and willingness to help future generations lives on through their contributions to Find a Grave.

Bio

I follow the tradition of a number of outstanding LANDER family researchers (not to say I'm outstanding), starting with my great grandfather, Rev. David Luther Lander, who wrote the "History of the Lander Family of Virginia and Kentucky", published 1926. His papers are now housed in the Kentucky Historical Society Library, Frankfort, Kentucky. A subsequent book was written by this generation's Lander researcher, "History of the Lander Family of Virginia and Kentucky by Rev. David Luther Lander with Additions and Corrections by Peggy Roberta Brown Chapman in cooperation with Alice Freeman Hills". These three individuals are most instrumental in putting together a comprehensive history of the Lander family and allied families. I continue the work for my children and grandchildren. I will not follow the lead of those before me in writing a book but I am willing to share what I have with other family members. It is now my goal to try to submit as many names as possible on Find A Grave, to insure "our ancestors will not be forgotten".

I have included a photo of my son and I many years ago over Rev. David Luther Lander's headstone. My son is now 34 years old so you can image I have aged in the past 24 years or so.

Additional information and/or corrections always appreciated.
