Bio Photo Daughter of Cecil Wray Rogers and Evelyn Alice Kurtz Rogers.I was born in Pinckneyville IL in 1964,My Father now retired Captain with The United States Marine Corps was stationed in Okinawa, Japan upon my arrival only received a telegram "It's a Girl" for a few days he believed he had a daughter named Ginger. Much to his surprise my mother changed my name. I have lived at the Marine Corps Base, Camp LeJune, NC, back to Pinckneyville (a small southern town in IL) and then moved to Orlando, FL in 1971. When I married my husband Ray we moved to Apopka, FL and in 1989 I was blessed with the birth of my son Raymond (III). I truly enjoy family history. There are books and articles for my dad's side which have been extremely helpful, and I have been researching my mothers side for many years now and came across this site in 2010. It has been very helpful to me and if I can help anyone else out I will. I create the memorials to show respect to those who have gone before us and as a way to help maintain "Family History". I feel that memorials should be maintained by family, they will be able to honor them better than I, and I wish others would do the same in return. Even though I try my best to create the memorial as accurate as I can, I to make mistakes. Please send corrections and I will do my best to correct them as soon as possible.

At work I do a lot of archiving old photos. Some of my customers bring me hundreds of family photos dating back in the 1800's. I find it so fascinating. I tell them about this site so they may find some of their family members information and leave a note or just some "virtual"flowers.

today October 17, 2012 I received a email from an angry "Lady" who threatened me for creating a memorial for her family member. If I create one and you would like me to remove it, threats are not needed. I feel I am very respectful of the departed and I KNOW many have appreciated the time we volunteers take to create and post memorials. I appreciate the information I have found about my families on Find A Grave, and I THANK EACH and everyone who volunteers!

RE: Thank You
Thanks Sharon for the quick response. Jimmie Lee Nelson "Rowell" were my Grandmother who passed away before I were born. I have been searching for her lot for years. I don't have any answers.

Thank you for your generosity. It is very time consuming documenting information and creating memorials. Those of us who research are extremely grateful to folks like you. God Bless!

RE: Memorial 11225653 - Lydia Elizabeth Barber Patrick
Hi Sharon - I guess there is no headstone and that is why it's not on the memorial. Please don't go looking for it for me if the cemetery is in disrepair. It's really not worth it. I appreciate your offering to do so - I just thought you might have a photo in your files. If not, don't worry. It's not a big problem.

Take care, and thanks again,

RE: Memorial 11225653 - Lydia Elizabeth Barber Patrick
Hi Sharon - Thank you so much for your generosity. I appreciate.

There are a lot of Patrick's, but not all of the headstone were photographed. At least three of Lydia's siblings don't have photos. The family is so huge, it would take several hours just to go through all of them and check all of the siblings, their spouses and children, etc. If it is possible you have photos of these in your files, do you mind uploading them? Since I don't photograph cemeteries, I don't know how you keep track of what you have done, etc.

For now, the three that don't have photos are Mary Ann (Patrick) Young - Memorial 112614387, Henry Worth Patrick - Memorial 81048869, and Kate Elinor (Patrick) Gaines - Memorial 105276447. If you don't have photos of them, don't worry. I will submit photo requests for them as I work on my tree. This is a huge family and it will be several weeks (months?) before I finish just this family.

Thanks again for your hard work. I know it must be a labor of love. Why else would anyone do it?

Memorial 11225653 - Lydia Elizabeth Barber Patrick
Hi Sharon -

May I have your permission to use the photo you took of my cousin's headstone in my family tree? I really appreciate the hard work you have done for me and others like me who cannot. These photos, which I use in the Death and Burial section of my relative's profile page (not the profile photo) add a lot to otherwise barren pages of forms and statistics.

Thank you so much,

Carol Barber Hudson

Thanks, so much for making the effort to photograph the grave marker of John William Schriber. John was my great uncle. This means a lot.
