Bio and Links
Bio Photo With much of my immediate family growing in and around the Washington D.C area for generations, I was never overly curious about family history. After a friend who was more interested than I found photos of relatives gravesites in other states who were born during the time of Andrew Jackson I was amazed. Even a marker for my grandmother's unnamed infant son which I had seen in home movies had been photographed by someone.
I am most familiar with DC area's, Holy Rood, Arlington Cemetery, Oak Hill and Cedar Hill Cemetery on Pennsylvania Avenue. I have taken many photos for my own enjoyment and for friends over the years, but realize others are often not so near.

Note also, feel free adding a photo to any of my memorials, as different time of day, light and opportunity may aid in clarity and appreciation to a loved one or researcher. The older photos on this site do not allow you to zoom in, plus digital cameras are much improved since the early 2000's.

Thanks for your help and suggestion, You are right, was a duplicate, and I deleted mine and then linked his wife to the existing one and added the same photo as I had on mine. So I think it is all sorted out. Yes, I need to do what you do with external drive photos. Just have not yet gotten there. Let me know if you see any other duplicates, edits, or other issues, and I will do the same. ~ J

Stunning find! Helps fill in a big gap and establishes a Galway link to both Keady and Tierney families! Very much appreciated!

RE: James McGuire [DC]
You are welcome! I found the information randomly, while searching for something else, and then found your memorial, or I never would have known where he was buried. Teamwork. :-) Alice

Martha Payne Tucker
Hicks family
Hi Randy,
I am descended from James and Margaret Helen Newton Hicks. I am also descended from the Sydenham Dietz family mentioned in Margaret's blurb. In my ancestry search, I have James born in 1812 and death around 1880. One of the Hicks children, Helen Victoria Hicks (Dietz) is my 2nd great grandmother. She married Sydenham Dietz. Their daughter, Lillian Loretto Dietz married Vivian Elmore Lake, my great grandfather. This branch of the family is in Congressional Cemetery. I have James and Margaret's children as: Robert Fielding Hicks, Anna Martha Hicks, Bennett Clarence Hicks, Helen Victoria Hicks, John Walter Hicks and Walter Hicks. I have a few more, but they could be mistakes in my Ancestry tree. Hope you can find more on James. Thanks for what you've found so far.
