I am a mother of 2 and grandmother of 6. I am raising my two oldest grandchildren. I am a hired genealogy and documents researcher in Lamar County, Texas and surrounding counties. But, I love to volunteer a little here and there. This is why I like to help others so if there is a tombstone pic in a cemetery in my area, that you would like to have...I am only an email away. I was also a volunteer at www.RAOGK.com, before they shut the site down. I am currently also the Lamar Co. Genealogical Society Library librarian and the volunteer worker on Thursday mornings...and any other time one of the volunteers can not make it. Please visit the Lamar County Genealogy site online. It is a great site and has lots of good information on area ancestors and history. |
Am researching my birth mother's family: Ward, Lisenbee, Wiggins, Kays, Summerall, Stennett, Noel.
My birth father's family: Smith, Caviness, not sure yet the rest. Just found out about a year ago who he was.
Adopted father's family: Cornett, McGuire, Warren, Fuller from Red River Co.,Texas, before that Bienville Parish, Louisiana.
Adopted mother's family: Moore, Wood, Jordan from Falls Co., Texas
My father-in-law's family: Usry, Lloyd, Watts from Hugo, Choctaw Co., Oklahoma and Bennington, Bryan Co., Oklahoma, and Indian Territory, Oklahoma.
My mother-in-law's family: Bryan, Ballard, Anderson, from Lamar Co., Texas,
Would be happy to show you how to start researching your family tree.
Good luck and happy hunting!

No, I do not know where they were married.
The 1910 and 1920 census shows her living in Oklahoma, so I would assume they were married in Oklahoma?
I added some additional data to her "bio".

Hello Debra...I have transfered James Cornett's memorial to your care. I am always pleased to share, especially with a family member.
|S PRICE Nance||virtual cemeteries|
I have created 38 virtual cemeteries that I have moved memorials I have contributed and memorials of ancestry by other contributors at FInd A Grave. The one created with McGuire/Davidson memorials have 297 memorials. Anyone can establish virtual cemeteries. There are many descendants of all family memorials, and if a memorial is correct and submitted in the correct cemetery it accomplishes Find A Grave mission statement. I am sorry that you are taking this personally. I have not taken or keeping anything from your heritage. I am sorry you are taking this personally. We are all searching, collecting and preserving our family genealogies and history. Again, if you want to add ANYTHING to the bio of these memorials, I will gladly add the information and give you credit. I am proud that your parents that adopted you..as I know how I feel about my adopted daughter and the 3 grandchildren another daughter adopted from her husband's previous marriage. I am very sorry that you feel I was insulting you. I have read your profile. You are a great lady who is helping so many people in Texas. I also have been a volunteer in KS and AZ for 35 years. Thank you for all you do for those you volunteer to help.

I did not intend to insult that you are adopted. I have an adopted daughter and we have 3 adopted grandchildren. Find A Grave is not a genealogy database. My family organization has been working on the Davidson/McGuire genealogy for 30 years. I just prefer keeping these memorials. If you have any biographical information to add, I would gladly add it and give you credit for the informatino. I am sorry that this offends you.

Any bio information you would like to submit to memorials that I have contributed will be listed with your name and profile number as contributor.

James Lafayette McGuire is my gg-grandmother Easter Alabama McQuire sibling. As far as the photo that has been contributed to his and wife memorials, you will have to discuss with the person who submitted it. I notice that the McGuire's come through your adopted father's lineage. I would prefer not to transfer these 2 memorials. If you have biographical information you would like to contribute please use the edit option at their memorials. Thank you.

This is absolutely the right way to do this as far as I'm concerned. I welcome new photos especially if they are better than the one I took or in this case, has a death date where there was none before. Thanks for doing this & for letting me know.
Also, would you attach your photo to her husband, Roy's (#22454482) memorial page. I've removed mine from his also.
