Bio

I began working closely with a group of cousins in 2005 to trace the families of Pierce Butler and Anora Woods. Pierce emigrated from Ireland and married Canadian born Anora Welch in 1861.

With the expert help of L.A. Butler, G.H. Sullivan, and M.L. Begert, we have traced the births of their 11 children across Canada, Vermont, and Minnesota. Our main research is included in the "Butler-Woods-Swanson-Sullivan Connection" and "Pierce Butler-Anora Woods Family History".

I added another tree in 2011 to highlight my mother's families: "Butler-Guest-Engelhard-Beavens-Griep Connection" based in Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota. My mother was the oldest of three children born to Walter and Edna Guest, and grew up dancing with the Merriel Abbott International Dancers of the Empire Room, Palmer House of Chicago. She met and married Robert Butler of Staples MN during the war and their five children were born at Bolling Field AAFB. As a military family, we traveled from Washington DC to Georgia to finally settle in Michigan.

My home has been Arizona since 1978 and my two daughters are graduates of ASU and UA. Recently retired to enjoy the spoiling of 2 toddler grandsons, I spend most evenings searching for name connections. Our family photos are part of our tributes to these families. If you would like to use a family photo from one of our memorials, please ask. Thanks!
