RE: Ferneau/Stigers
Her obituary says she is buried there but I searched along with a daughter and a volunteer searched later and none of us found anything. Strange. Thanks for any insight you have. She was married three times you know and died under the name of Spires.

RE: Ferneau/Stigers
Sorry Paul I can't help you here. I have been to that cemetery and walked the whole thing with my daughter. I was hunting for a stone or some kind of marker for Francis Spire, Alfred's first wife, with no luck. Alfred has this big old stone that needs cleaned but no Francis and no other things of interest. The cemetery sits directly across the road from the church.

I was wondering if you had relation to Hiram Bissell. I have two photos of his children, one of Louis and the other of Mable. I am wanting to get them returned to a family member. I don't have relation to them and would like to see them go to their family.
Thank you,

RE: General Peers
I am so glad to hear you accomlished that. I didn't serve under him but I was a big fan of the way he handled the Report for My Lai, which, ironically, was 47 years ago this past Monday.

I noticed the note you placed on his site and just wanted to say I hope you are successful in your endeavor to get him inducted into the Iowa Military Hall of Fame. He was no nonsense, fair and one tough cookie.
