Although I have just learned about Find A Grave, I have researched my ancestery back to 1720 in Stuttgart, Germany. He came to this country through the port of Philidelphia in 1743. He married and settled in PA. They both were killed by Indians in 1760. |
I am looking forward to using this site a great deal.

Not related to any Guthries. I just took the pictures. Sorry.

I hope that your time away was under the best of circumstances-- a break maybe to recharge your batteries (so to speak)? How are you a Rainey? I have actually not met many people with our last name although, at one time, "we" were a rather large tribe. I forget but, I believe that I told you that I am a great-granddaughter of Isaac and Almira Rainey from Clearfield, Co. PA.
I don't know where your are in your research. My parents divorced when I was very young and I grew up removed from my father's entire family, so for me everything I have learned is "new" and exciting as I have reconnected to them through our mutual interest in genealogy.

I am a grand-daughter of Leslie Rainey. He was a son of Isaac Rainey and Almira Barto. My grandfather was born in Clearfield County but moved to Akron, OH as a young man. Thanks for putting so much info up for those of us who are just starting out trying to sort out all these "Rainey's", I really appreciate your hard work.

Your contributions to Find A Grave have really been so helpful, as I have spent this winter researching my Rainey roots in Western PA (mostly Clearfield County).The bad weather kept me indoors but your hard work kept me motivated to always move forward. Thank you for your time and sharing with those of us following behind you.

Thank you for the photo of the Daniel Ruffner gravestone. I had no idea there was a Ruffner cemetery. This Daniel Ruffner is my direct ancestor, however his middle initial is H. not A.

She was born in Pirmasens, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, not Sindelfingen, which was her father's birthplace. More details about the KOPP family here:

Thank you. Sorry it took so long. I really enjoy doing this. I plan on going out every chance I get.
|Mike Turner||Dorothy M Pike Marker|
Ken, I found a marker for Dorotyh M Pike in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston NY. The only thing is that birth year on it is 1914, and the year you have listed in 1915. Think it's the right one?
|Cindy/Larry Stiffler||Samuel Stiffler|
My dad was Samuel Stiffler just wondering if we are related. I'm Lawrence and live in Ernest,PA.
