Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired Tech Lab teacher in middle school.
I enjoy genealogy and creating photo album pages of grandkids. I especially enjoy taking pictures of headstones. Cemeteries are lovely, peaceful and quiet.

PLEASE use the edit button to request transfers and make changes/additions to memorials.
Thank you.

Also, since I take a large number of cemstone photos, it is time prohibitive to clean them, especially the older ones, before taking a pic. I will be glad to retake any photos upon request.

AND, I would really appreciate any email communication to include the memorial numbers of the person(s) to whom you are referring. It is so time consuming (and open to error) to find names using the search tool.

RE: Zerelda Pratt # 170691811
I re-read your post several times, and now I think that I understand it. SAC is the information that I sent to you. Somehow some it must have been deleted along the way. I did not want you to delete the spouse's name, but to enhance it. I'm not sure what happened along the way. "Unknown" was never my idea or intent. He husband's name was Jehiel T. Pratt.
Sorry for any confusion.

From Jackson Co. Ohio Marriages:
Jehiel T Pratt m Cerilda Johnson
7 Aug 1845 Jackson Co OH.
by George W. Hale, J.P

I sent the above with the other information that didn't survive the cut. I have researched this family for 20 years & love to see more that barebones coverage on Find A Grave.

I can see dropping the Tuttle as I have seen it nowhere else besides correspondence from a descendant. It appears that J.T was used as a nickname and more properly belongs there in my estimation. It is so hard to find someone when there name is not used.

I created a memorial a few years back, but I obviously had bad information about the cemetery so had the family posted in Elk.
I updated that yesterday when I saw the the bio didn't survive, feeing it contains important information not otherwise covered. My intent was to delete my memorial, but now I wonder.

I sincerely appreciate your efforts. Please keep me posted.

Fruitland Cem
Mae, Thank you for your information. I have been thru Fruitland Cem many many times when I was a kid. There is a Doyle family there that was my Great Grandfathers family. Sometime before the Civil War mine changed the spelling to Doile. My Grandmother used to want us to take her out there. I remember seeing the Yeakley stones and I knew they were part of my mothers family. My grandmother died when I was 14 but boy, she had people in just about every cemetery around. Hardford Cem was another big one for her. lol
Needless to say they were in Emporia before it was Lyon Co. Beckinridge or something like that was the county back then. Thank you again.

RE: Smiths at Pleasant Hill Cemetery
Mae, I think you are right on the Pleasant Hill cemetery. I will check with my Mom to verify but I have some others there and I think it should of been Pleasant Hill and not cottage hill....Thanks for noticing that. I remember their graves were by a tree when I went there and Cottage Hill only has one.

RE: Smiths at Pleasant Hill Cemetery
Thank you Mae the memorial # for Mary is 130167235 and the memorial for "marion" is actually Mahlon and I am already the custodian of his memorial site. The one you have Marion #130167209 Sorry for the confusion but I didn't pay close enough attention when I looked at the one you have. My Great Grandfather Mahlon's memorial number is #127228002 if you would like to verify. Thank you so much and sorry for the confusion as the grave markers are in terrible shape and I hope to get them better ones.

Bert? I have no idea who Bert was. No one has ever said she lost a child but..it is possible and maybe that is why the sit the headstone before they died.

Smith's at Pleasant Hill cemetary
Hello Mae

First thank you for your memorial of my Great Grandparents Marion and Mary Smith. I was wondering if you would be interested in transferring management of their wall to myself? I am trying to pool family together to get them a new Headstone as I was sad when I visited their sight and saw the condition of their stones. The are my Grandmothers Grandparents on my Mom's side and I have a lot of information I could add. Anyway, thank you for your time

Hello!

Thank you for your message. No problem. Hopefully I haven't totally overloaded you with edit approvals. I've been "back filling" information from my Ancestry.com tree into Find A Grave to give a more complete picture of my relatives long past. If a last name is Brabb-Hooper-Meinhardt-Miller-Morgan-Peterson and lived in the Alta Vista-Council Grove-Dunlap area, then I'm probably related. Have a nice week!

Best regards,
Justin
