Bio and Links
I was born in Ohio, raised in PA, spent my adult life, primarily, in Virginia, with several years in Oregon and New York. I didn't know that I had family ties to Virginia, but they exist in both my maternal and paternal line, which is fun. My family names include: Bergert, Carson, Johnston, Bell, Bowman, Runyon, Malin, Kurtz, Parker and Harbison. I appreciate all the help I can get and I am happy to provide information for others. My tree has nearly 18,000 names and I use FTM. Will send files to others.

Hello, a photo request...
You've added a nice tombstone picture to a memorial for Susan (Romberger) Bowman here - This memorial is a dupe of one I had made a year earlier.

May I ask you to kindly delete that pic and move it to my original memorial here? -

I am contacting the contributor who made the dupe and asking them to delete it, but don't want to do so until your wonderful pic is moved, so it is not lost. Many thanks if you would.

RE:John Cyphert
Hi Ellen,
Sorry about the last message, hit the wrong key. Anyway, I have a J Cyphert with no dates on the stone because it is a War Stone. Do you know if he was in the Civil War? It has Co C 105th PA INF on stone. This will be the only way to verify if they are a match. Let me know. I'll claim it if it's a match. Also, I went today and finished photographing the whole cemetery, so I'll have the rest of the requests when I upload the photos with their names.

RE: Payne Family Cemetery, Fluvanna
I would love to know where this is exactly? Red House is the name of their place... I believe it was a nice estate at that time... Thank you

Russell Johnston
The only marker I found for Russell Johnston was a military marker.

RE:James Reed
Hi Ellen,
I was at Helen Cemetery yesterday and I'm labeling the photo's now. I have a James that looks to have died 1838 and a James son of David. The David is pretty much under dirt, but it looks like it says Reed. I'm not sure which one it would be. Do you know his fathers name or could I be misreading the date of death.

RE: William B Parker -Lexington KY
I sent the person who placed the photos on your memorial for William B Parker an e-mail and a sac to let them know that the photos are wrong but have received no response. If you want to have the memorial re posted for a photo request, we can have the admins remove the photos. Let me know if that is what you want and I will submit the memorial for photo removal. Owners of memorials should be able to remove photos I think but apparently the admins think otherwise

RE: Susanna Klinger Romberger
Thanks for your kind reply. Your motivation for taking the pic is compassionate, and I'm very glad you took it. May I share it with the family historian? It must have been wonderful to schlep all the way up from VA and find such a nicely tended grave, flagged and all.

Thanks for your kind words for my dad. Speaking objectively, not as his daughter, he was a special guy, with a playful mind and a very sweet heart. People always just loved him, recognizing his kind ways and purity of intention.

Yes, please, do keep taking those pictures. You really never know when something left on this site will turn out important to someone. For 2 years I maintained a memorial for a Romberger child I did not know but visited regularly. Finally I saw repeated visits from someone who turned out to be the child's aunt, and I was so glad to transfer that memorial. I finally had the pleasure of meeting her last weekend at the family reunion. You just never know! :-)
