Like most of the people that post photographs to Find-A-Grave, I enjoy the search and the traveling to locate tombstones of lost friends and relatives for people. If possible I use other sources to flesh out the inscription information, because I feel sorry for the deceased person that only has a birth or death date memorial. For me transcribing a faded or worn inscription to get that last tid-bit of information inscribed years ago to memorialize a lost friend or family member adds a special thrill to the search.
I once met another Find-A-Grave contributor at a library, and what a unique conversation we had. We had a brief conversation about our successes and failures and exchanged information. Pretty neat!
Let me know about corrections. I have found problems on both tombstone inscriptions and death certificates. The information added to a memorial is a balance of checking other sources and official documents with the inscriptions.

As an end to this verbiage, I found one of my own relative's tombstones during a Find-A-Grave search for someone else. There are also times when visiting an old cemetery that I wish that I had the time to photograph all the old tombstones in order to bring the names of the deceased back into memory.
