My first life recollections are of a cemetery. My father was caretaker of the Onarga Township Cemetery in Onarga, Iroquois County, IL, from the time I was 2 years old until I was 7. The job included a home and outbuildings on the edge of the cemetery, so the cemetery was my backyard. My parents are now both buried there.|
I've been an avid family genealogist for the past 30 years. In July 2010 I finished and published a Hewitt family history covering the first 4 generations of Eli Martin Hewitt and his descendants. Contact me about obtaining one. Please see my web site for more info about the lines being researched.

Hello.. what are the dates for your William? From where in VA did they come? This generation of my mother's ROGERS line are blacksmiths from Albemarle, Virginia >> Barren County, KY >> Putnam County, MO. He is the son of Achilles Rogers & Molly George.
Per census, There is a William Rogers still in ALBEMARLE, VA c1850. Could this be your William? My Isaac Rogers & family were already established in Putnam County, MO by the 1850 census.
Isaac & Lucy (BAIRD) ROGERS (MET IN KY).
