Thank you for your kind note; you are most welcome.
I'm glad I was of some help.
Sad that they had to defend their country...R.I.P. all of those Reddings--

RE: Chambliss 82842883
Hi Connie. Unfortunately, no I don't know much about the Chambliss family, except for Grandpa Zachariah Henry Chambliss' Will, the copy of which I got from "The McKenney Chronicles: Some Descendants Of John and William McKenney, Sons of Travis McKenney," by Edwin Fletcher James, 1971, Dallas, Texas.
I wrote to Edwin several times concerning our James, McKenney, Flournoy, and Gresham families. He was kind enough (and related enough, lol) to share info, and we bounced ideas off one another, mostly concerning the Flournoy and James sides of the family. Since he passed away, I've discovered that our James line has Cherokee blood. I've often wondered what he would think about that fact. lol. Do you have a copy of Grandpa Zachariah Chambliss' Will?
In the will he lists his heirs as: son JOEL (who has children, and he is living), son JOHN, son ALEXANDER'S children (two daughters MARY McKENNEY and NANCY JONES), son EDWARD, son TIMOTHY, daughter SELINA and her children, daughter SALLY DURHAM and her children (husband named as Durham), daughter VIRLINDA and children (granddaughter B. E. V. McKenney aka Bianca Elizabeth Virlinda McKenney Flournoy - my ancestress), daughter NANCY WRIGHT and her children (husband Joseph W Wright), daughter REBECCA BRYANT and her children. Names sons JOHN and EDMOND CHAMBLISS executors, Will dated 17th day of January 1850, Monroe County, Georgia. Edwin James said that after he died, John Chambliss pleaded old age, and refused to act as executor, so his son THOMAS EDMOND CHAMBLISS served instead. Edwin James also stated, "His (Zachariah's) grave is located 3 miles from Forsyth in a small family cemetery."
I haven't really dug into the history very much, as about that time another family line that I was researching exploded open, and I stayed busy for a couple of years. Stay in touch. I love hearing from "new" cousins!

Georgia Girl
RE: Thomas and Mariah Searcy Redding
Interesting. I checked the entry for them and indeed it does say Georgia Girl but when I click on that link, it is no longer available. Perhaps I need to change my Find A Grave name as that is definitely not from me. I have never heard of these people.

I checked your past thread and it looks like their is someone named GAgirl as opposed to mine Georgia Girl. You might check that one.

I'm sorry you must have the wrong person as I don't have anyone by that name in the graves I have added or managed.

I'm not sure you are contacting the right person. Was my name associated with the Redding's on findagrave? Thanks!

Could you include his memorial # so I can identify him?
