Bio and Links
Bio Photo Family historian/genealogist, have researched my own tree extensively and assisted others with their lines. I add and manage memorials primarily for my own direct line ancestors, and collateral-lines kin. I also do volunteer work locally where I live, adding memorials and providing headstone photos on request for cemeteries in my general area and sometimes other locations that I am visiting for people that I may not be related to. Please use the edit tool to submit any edits/corrections on memorials. I will consider transfer of memorials on request to those who are verified close relatives of the deceased, other than memorials that are for my own direct-line ancestors or in my immediate family.

RE: Giesler
This is great news. I am happy to have found a new, but distant relative. I don't however have any information about the family going that far back. I am finding and have found information that others have already done. I get bits and pieces of info here and there. I have found a link to royalty going back to Louis the 6th of France in medieval times. I still have to do some double checking to make sure this is 100% accurate.

The parents of William David Hudgens
I am researching William David Hudgens. He says in the collection of John J. Watts that his father is John Hudgens and that he was born in McMinn County, Tennessee.
I have been trying to find the correct John Hudgens and possibly his wife Sarah. I have come up with a few possibilities and quickly ruled them out.
I found a bible of John M. Hudgens the son of Drury Hudgens and this proves that he William David Hudgens is not the son of John Hudgens who is the son of Drury.
this bible is located in the Library of Virginia.
Births
John M Hudgens was born December the 11th day 1769 and ?? this life June the 22nd day 1859.
Mary Hudgens the wife of John M. Hudgens was born this 15th day of December 1769.
It lists there children as Anthony M. Hudgens b. 9 Aug 1792
Mary M. 24 May 1794
Elizabeth A Hudgens 1st September 1797
John M. Hudgens 6th March 1799
Matilda Hudgens 18th april 1801
William H Hudgens april 20th 1802
Charity Hudgens April 25th 1804
Benjamin Hudgens August 24th 1806
Delilah Alkins? Hudgens August 15th 1808
John Elbert Hudgens August 11th 1808 departed this life 19 June 1835
James Alford Hudgnes born August 19th 1814
James A Hudgens Departed this life 19th January 1840

then goes on to list some grandchildren.
It lists his parents as
Drury Hudgens born October 11th 1742
Lizzy Hudgens his wife was born December 25th 1745
Lists the children of Drury and his wife Lizzie
Mary Hudgens July 25th 1762
Sarah Hudgens June 25th 1764
Nancy Hudgens March 9th 1767
John M Hudgens December 11th 1769
Rozanner Hudgens June 22nd 1772
William Hudgens April 27th 1776
Jane Hudgens April 25th 1779
Phoeba Hudgens November 27th 1782
Drury Hudgens died January 5th 1807
John M. Hudgens the son of John M. Hudgens died 28th June 1803

William David Hudgens was born in 1784 He could not be the son of John M. Hudgens (born 1758) the son of Drury Hudgens unless he had a child at the age of 15 years.
Then i find John Hudgens who married Amelia Foster and they have is birth date as 1760. and lists his father as Drury Hudgens.
I believe that William David Hudgens is related to the family from Virginia, but i have come to the conclusion that he did not come through Drury.
Thanks for all the help I can get.

RE: Giesler
My direct ancestor is Noah Sr. We share the same distant ancestor. One of Noah's sons was Francis Marion Giesler who is my 2nd GGFather on my mothers maternal side. It's nice to find a distant relative.

Gieslers
I am trying to locate more information on the Gieslers. My maternal grandmother was a Giesler. Hughie Giesler was my grandmothers mother. My Grandmother is Ethel Pederson. Ethel has since passed, but am trying to do research for the Giesler side of the family. I was wondering if you were in any way related to the Gieslers or you were just doing research for someone. I would like to know more information if you are related, and know more than what I currently have. Thank you in advance.

RE: Eliza Ann Hanes Harrison
Thank you for getting back to me. Trying to solve these family mysteries can be frustrating, but when one is solved, it is sure rewarding--and, just seems to tell you a bit more about who you are. Maybe some information will turn up one of these days.

RE: Eliza Ann Hanes Harrison
Thank you for getting back to me. I will do some checking on the Washington possibility. With this family research I have found that a little hint can often lead to an interesting find.

Eliza Ann Hanes Harrison
I noticed that you had posted a memorial for John T. Harrison. Do you happen to know of what became of Eliza Ann Harrison?

Eliza was the daughter of my great great grandmother Fanny Smith Haines Harrison. My great grandmother was Isabella Roberts Smith, Fanny's daughter by James S. Smith.

Elmer Flingstrom
Office at Fairhaven has no record of Elmer only Dorothy. Santa Ana Cemetery does not have him listed in their Cemetery District Database.
