I have been married 59 years but we have no children. I was an elementary teacher for 21 years, quitting in the spring of 1972 to stay home and care for a nephew for five years. After he became school age, I went back to work in 1977 as a police dispatcher and continued in this work for approximately ten years. I began my family research shortly before quitting this job. I took over publication of a family newsletter when the original publisher was no longer able to continue. I enjoy exchanging information with other researchers.|

Everything I have come across says Mattie, do you have a source showing Martha?

Hi Joan, I have seen your photo of the sign for Greenview Memorial show up on Ancestry.com - passed to me by the website. But, after reading your comments, I'm not sure you gave permission to use it. So, before I post it on my relatives' page (I use the photo of the cemetery in the 'Burial' section of the page - not as the profile photo), I thought I would ask you if you have given your permission to use it. I've tried to contact the other contributor who posted a photo of the cemetery but haven't heard from her, yet. A lot of my relatives are buried there, since my mother was born in Florence. Her mother's family, the Wesson's, were pioneer settlers in the county. If you will allow me to use your photo, I would be exceedingly grateful.
Thank you and have a great day,
Carol Barber Hudson
(mother's memorial is 160807229 - she died in Chattanooga, where I live, grandparents are 53083487 and 53082779).

You are very welcome

I am doing research on WWI soldiers in Missouri. I am working from a book, "WWI Honor Roll of Lawrence County Missouri" published by the Greene County Archives, which also includes pics of them in their uniform. I then corroborate their military records which are listed on Ancestry. My intent is to recognize and honor the soldiers. But if you feel that the info is inappropriate, that is certainly your choice. Thank you.
You're welcome--I'm glad this helps!

Hi Joan, I have a question, did Fred Wilbur Shores marry Gena Rae Johnson or did his brother Franklin William Shores marry Gena? I suspect you are right, but my records indicate she married Franklin. Thanks for your dedicated work!
