RE: Hunter
Thank you for clarifying this. I have wondered for so long and now I know for sure.

RE: Nicolas Lincks
John, I posted the photos. Searching Ancestry, I found that Henrietta was Nicholas and Charlotte's daughter. I have photos of her memorial too. If you want to create a memorial for her, I'll post the photos to it. Thanks! Karen

Nicolas Lincks
John, I have a Nicolas LINK in Cedar Grove in my files. There are 3 on the monument, Nicholas, Charlotte & Henrietta, but the dates don't match. This Nicholas died in 1861, Charlotte in 1891 and Henrietta in 1918. I have this cemetery almost all photographed, so I'll post if I find it.

Surname
Hi Deacon,

I know this is a question I should know already, but could you please explain if the Gaten surname has a s or not at the end. I see it often written as Gatens.

Thanks,

Carol

RE: Mary Magdelline Lincks
A. you should of asked for a transfer.
B. You should not be so rude when asking someone to remove a memorial.
C. You should have not removed the photo off and placed it on your Memorial because if you look in the photo you lifted the same snake in that is in yours also.. He snuck in there.
So ask me nice and I shall remove my memorial.
even though you added yours a year later. I have no problem with that.
and You can thank me for adding the photo. I am being nice.

Thank you much Annie.

RE: Jacob and Madelaine Keller
Not so coincidentally there was a Jacques (Jacob) Lincks and Magdelaine Keller married in 1818 in a town called Lichtenberg, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France.

They also had four children born with the exact same names and born on the exact same days you list.

This Jacques (Jacob) was also born in 1772 but in Klingenmunster, Bavaria.

The entire family lived and died in Lichtenberg. They had no connection to Jacob and Eva Margaretha (Fuchs) Lincks.

Here's where you can find more: http://gw.geneanet.org/doudil?lang=en&p=jacques&n=lincks

I checked the Lichtenberg vital records to verify the marriage and birth dates.

RE: Jacob and Madelaine Keller
Then why is there not a single record of any of their births in the Niderbetschdorf vital records?

Jacob and Margaretha are listed in the 1836 census of Niederbetschdorf as:

Jacques Lincks 64
Marguerite Fuchs 64
George Fuchs 38
Madeleine Lincks 21

No other Lincks family, other their son Frederick's family, is listed in this census. Marguerite is listed under her maiden name which is true of all women in the French census and vital records. George Fuchs was her son born out of wedlock in 1799.

George Fuch's 1837 marriage record from Oberbetschdorf lists his mother as living in Amerique du Nord (North America). This narrows down when Jacob and Margaretha left for America to 1836-1837.

RE: Death was 1815
Then why is there no record of Eva Margaretha's death in 1815 and the marriage records of her son Frederick and daughter Margaretha both show she as living in 1836 and 1827 respectively? Her daughter Margaretha's death record shows she died in Amerique.

There is definitely no marriage record of any Lincks to anyone in 1818 in Neiderbetschdorf vital records, period. In fact there is no record of ANY Lincks (or any similar spelling) in the Neiderbetschdorf (or for that matter in nearby Oberbetschdorf) marriage records from 1813 to 1822.
