My name is Mary (Asplin) Lambert from Edmond, Oklahoma. I am a semi-retired RN. My parents: Ray and Fern (Park) Asplin. |
Ancestors include: the Asplin, Mead(e), Doty, Hulsey, Lewis, King, Park, Hairston, Parker, Banta, DeMott, DeMarest,Terhune, and Joslin families.
The Joslin (Joccelyn,Jocelyn, Joscelin, Josceline,Joscelyn, Joshlin, Joslyn, Josselyn,
Josselyne) family relates to me as well as my husband. Thomas Joslin, who came to America in 1635, had a son named Abraham who is my direct ancestor. Thomas Joslin also had a son named Nathaniel who is my husband's direct ancestor.
I have been able to trace my ancestry back to Edward Doty who arrived with the Pilgrims on the Mayflower. This has been supported by DNA through a male (Doty) second cousin once removed.
I would be pleased to transfer memorials to you since most of the memorials that I post are not that of my relatives. I will usually transfer memorials for those outside my own family lines, even to those who are not within the Findagrave four generation policy, including people who may have been just friends. However, please be sure that you intend to actually add something to enhance the memorials. It's frustrating to transfer an entire family to someone, only to later discover that nothing has been done with them. I check for Edits almost daily and usually accept them quickly.
I would be happy to make corrections, add family links, and include any additional information to the memorials that you provide. If I need to make additions and corrections on the memorials that I have posted, please use the Edit button on the upper right area of each memorial to contact me. Anyone may copy any photos I have posted for personal use - no credit required. It does my heart good to see them included in someone's family tree since the main reason I try to do my part in this is to help people who have passed on be remembered.
When I visit graves online, I like to leave a flower so that friends and family of the deceased will know that their loved one was acknowledged that day. You are welcome to transfer any of my "flowers" to your own scrapbook.
"In all of us there is a hunger, marrow-deep, to know our heritage - to know who we are and where we have come from. Without this enriching knowledge there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life there is still a vacuum. An emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness."

Thank you so much Mary. I believe Polly and Mary Morris were the same person as well.

I have noted that Frank Novotny, died in 1901, is not connected to his spouse, who is Marie Vostra (y) and was buried with him . There used to be a marker for each but it was vandalized so the markers are missing . Marie died November 4, 1904 and was interred beside Frank. I am a great grandchild and I have dates for all the family as well as photos. Her death should have been in the church records. I can't explain why it is not.
I am hoping we can add a connection to Frank and a page for Marie.

Hi Mary, thank you so much for your bio that you posted for Urbane Ellison. I believe her parents were James Ellison and Mary Morris as well, how ever the marriage records says Polly Morris. Do you have any indication that this was Mary Morris. I would greatly appreciate any conformation.
|Melodie Weliver Baird||RE: Mary Eliza Chapman Beach|
Thank you for your response. It was very helpful. My research does show that her parents were most likely James and Mariah and that she did have a sibling named Levi as borne out by 1850, 1860 census records. However, I believe her name was actually Mary Isabel Chapman. She had an older sister named Eliza so possibly that is where the confusion comes from. Her name is shown as Mary I. on the 1870 Census after she is married to Lawson Beach. In 1890, their son Lawson marries Mary McGaffin in Iowa and he lists his parents as Mary Isabel Chapman and Lawson Beach so I think I am on solid ground on the middle name. She is hard to trace and I guess it will be difficult to verify where the picture originally came from, although I will try to contact the original poster. If anyone can help with add'l info, I'd appreciate it.
Again, thank you so much.

Hi Mary, Memorial 52123893 has a picture of Mary Chapman and a short bio that says her parents were James & Mariah Caldwell Chapman of Warren Ky, later moved to Simpson. Mary Eliza is my 2 great-grandmother and I have not been able to verify this information or discover where this picture came from. Can you let me know where you were able to obtain this? Thank you for your help.

Mary, Roy DeLacretaz was my paternal grandfather. I would love to take over his memorial if that's okay.
I, coincidentally, live in Edmond. Would love to know how you got involved in this.

Thanks for the information, Mary. I am not related and will be happy to transfer to you. Just let me know.

Hi Mary--I'm a couple of counties away from Franklin county. Unfortunately, the only special access a funeral director has to records is the records from our funeral homes/cemeteries. It looks like there a quite a few cemeteries in Mosselle. Does the Death Cert have a cemetery name? DC's now list place of disposition as cemetery (or crematory). If I were you, I'd put in a photo request for the people so an alert goes out to a contributor in that area. Good luck! Janis

Your very welcome. Glad to be able to complete his page.
|Linda||Elizabeth Cardwell Turner|
I am helping my DAR regent with a DAR supplemental on Thomas Gaines. Would you have any documents to prove Elizabeth Cardwell Turner was the daughter of John Cardwell and Frances Gaines? Or any documents to prove that Elizabeth was the sister of Thomas P. Cardwell?
