I am retired and started researching the Hubler family from their beginnings in Pennsylvania,other areas of research have been Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado.|
The Hubler's first appeared in Pennsylvania around 1735, I presently have my line of the Hubler's traced back with documentation to 1795, earlier then 1795 has been difficult finding records. I Wish to thank all those who have responded to my request for pictures of the gravestones.

|Michael Larsen||Adler - Sterling, Colorado|
I notice that you added pictures of John and Mary Adler (#14838615 & #14838620). I added an additional photo of Mary Adler from our family album. I wondered if you had any additional information about them as you have their pictures. According to the information I have and it is the only information I have, John Adler was the cousin of my great-grandmother Rose Adler Walters (#13821805) who was also living in Sterling. Any information you may have would certainly be appreciated.
|LefflerResearcher||Johannes Philip Leffler|
The Leffler who married Eva Gunkel and lived in the Pine Grove, PA area was John or sometimes listed as Johannes. I have never found another name with him. Johannes Philip Leffler (or just Philip) was my 4 great grandfather and he moved to Ohio around 1811. I have his will and administration papers that list his children and there is no William. His baptismal record says that he was born in 1851 (new style dating) and his will is dated 1816 and filed in Butler County, OH. Johannes Philip was a brother to the John named above with their father, a Gottlieb Leffler who immigrated to America and lived in Northumberland County, PA. Other sons of Gottlieb were Johannes Heinrich (Henry), Johannes Adam (Adam), and Gottlieb (Jr). These names are listed in some of the father's administration papers after his death sometime in the 1790's. I did find William in my records listed in the German spelling as Wilhelm (I have about 25,000 names and sometimes I forget to look for other spellings).
Thank you so much for the information. I realized when I was looking for info that I had her as Tilla, probably a nickname.
Sorry for the blank message. I hit the enter key when I should have hit tab
|LefflerResearcher||Matilda Leffler :Hubler|
I found your memorial to Matilda (#108713921) and see you are researching the Hubler family. Do you know who Matilda's parents were? Or perhaps she used another name. I have done a lot of research on the Lefflers of the Pine Grove area, but do not have her on my list of names.
Thank you for any help you can give

I noticed that you posted the cemetery photo for Saint Matthews Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove, Schuylkill Co., PA. I was wondering if you might be able to verify for me if this cemetery might have also been called Cherryville Cemetery, or what the name "Cherryville" has to do with Schulkill Co.
Thank You for any help you can provide. Merry Christmas.

Note that I have revised my caption for John Hubler's photo. On closer examination of the photo, I've changed my interpretations of his birth and death dates and his age to be consistent with those listed on his memorial page.
