Lots of information about our family was on the verge of being lost, so I began researching both my and my husband's extended families plus families from the small towns we both came from. |
Family connections expanded. I received much material for the Dare/Twitty/Baker family from Dare researcher M.Doris Provart Gower, who graciously agreed to my sharing with you. Darnell-Hollaway/ Holloway family got help from Evah Hollaway Lager Picard, Grace Norris Hollaway and Lee Ann Hollaway Bailleu.
The Zahn/Brand/Schneider Kukuck & Voigt family was assisted by Talisman Temple Barbosa, Mary Farley Cummins and David Peipho. The Steinberg/ Koerner family has research from cousins Don & Janet Dickason, Lois Steinberg Adams and Ruth Koerner McCabe.
The extended Martin/Snelling/Shupe family come from my interviews with family members and the research of Terry Harper of Albion, IL, a fellow family member.
The Witt/Hoffman/Franks family has material from Mary Ann Franks O'Neill, Eleanor Hensen Kerber and the website of John Franks.
The Gerken-Helmers (Meyer/Martens, Brandt) family is mostly mine with help of cousins Mary Ann Hill and Eunice Martens Blissard.
Other individuals added information for their extended family. Most of them are credited in their additions. St. John's Lutheran church of Anchor, IL has a public website which gave much data for my great-grandfather and those families who lived near my childhood home.
Now I can share what I've found with others and get even more accurate data. I have used the best information I have, but will gladly correct errors and add or subtract material or transfer memorials if requested by someone closer.
Happy family researching!!

thanks posting the info to begin with. Stinson Anderson is my great great grandfather.

I have added the photo I took at the Historical Village in Mt. Vernon Illinois. It is only a partial headstone with the name Joseph Dodds.

Very good, thank you. I don't have any Brandt family in my Ancestry tree, so don't think I can help you at this time. If you tell me how they connect to you I could add them and begin developing their profiles.

Hi Rose - I will assume your last message to me means you have read all of my messages to you. I thought you might be offended if I requested management of very close relatives. If that isn't the case then I accept your offer and will help you manage relatives we have in common. Please then, process the ones I have requested so far. By the way, in reading the Find A Grave FAQ there is a way to process changes to memorials if the manager/creator is no longer able to do so. Find A Grave has an administrative group that will process these changes if you contact them directly via email. If you would like help doing anything like that, just shoot me an email with details and I will contact them. Thank you.

Hi Rosetta - After sending you the transfer requests today I think I would like you to cancel all of them. I just noticed that you are in my family tree on Ancestry. You are actually a second cousin to my first cousin, on whose behalf I was working, and you both share great grandparents and second great-grandparents of the Witt family line. I will not ask you to transfer these memorials to me. Sorry for not researching this completely before submitting the requests.
|C Martinsen||RE: Benson etc.|
Thank you for Ruth's transfer. Of course for any memorials that are transferred to me I will transfer them to any other family members who request them from me. I wanted to clarify the best way to request transfers from you if I were to send you a list. Would you prefer a list in an email or individually through the "suggest any other correction or addition" form in the edit utility? The edit utility provides my User ID automatically doesn't it?
|C Martinsen||RE: Ruth Franks Benson|
Thank you for getting the Bio in so quickly. I will let my cousin know it's done. With regard to your offer of transfer, yes, please, I would really like to manage more memorials for my family if you wouldn't mind transferring more. Currently I don't have a list I could give you so perhaps we could start with Ruth and as I come across others I could request them. I will not bombard you with requests all at once. Thanks again.

No, not a relative. I just like working on local (and German) history. I do have some Eberts in my ancestry, but they're from Pomerania. Karen
