I, too, began family research nearly forty years ago, before the internet exploded our options and resources. Now that I've found Find A Grave, I've become addicted to preserving the information found on older monuments that are weathering away and linking families together.

Most of my memorials involve extensions of my (huge) family lines, Civil War soldiers, and other older fragile monuments.

My own lines include BAUMAN, BIRI, BONE, CHABOT, DALTON, DODIER, JOLLY, LaROSE, LORE, MAYBERRY, NAEGER, RHYNE, RICE, STOREY, and TONGUAY in Missouri counties Madison, Perry, Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois, Washington,

Thank you to all the volunteers before me who have posted information on elusive family members.

RE: LaRose edits
I believe I am one of your distant cousins.

http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/MOSTEGEN/2001-09/1001540623 according to their granddaughter, Vital LaRose married Mary Morice, and Mary was the daughter of Alexander Morice, census records show same birth year, sometimes called "Marie".

There is only 1 Vital LaRose in census records remotely close in age - & is actually the same age in 1860 census in the household of Louis LaRose & Odile.

Vital LaRose's grandfather is my 5th great grandfather.
Mary Morice's father is my 4th great grandfather.

I use the free site familysearch.org, additional sources are attached to each of their pages there.

RE: Wilson Williams
Judy,

I just looked at the copy I have and I'm very satisfied. Don't make the trip just for this grave. But if you're already at the cemetery for other purposed, sure, why not.

Thank you again.

Wilson Williams
Dear Judy,

I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. My grandfather, Gunder Anderson, was a private in this unit. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, Sgt. Wilson Williams was also a part of this unit. This is confirmed by his gravestone.

I'm not exactly sure where I'm headed with my project, but I eventually want to publish something. With your permission, I would like to use your photograph of the grave of Wilson Wilson (Find A Grave Memorial# 50343591).

Thank you,

With warm regards,

Dear Judy,

I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, and confirmed by his gravestone, Wilson Williams was a member of this unit.

I'm not sure where I'm going with my project, but I want to think I'll eventually publish something. Should I do so, may I have permission to use your photograph of Wilson Williams's gravestone?

His father was also listed as a general. Do you know whether General was his first name or whether his military rank was General? It's not quite clear.

Thank you!

With warm regards,

Bryan Anderson

Dear Judy,
I have done the edits you sent me. If you are related to August and would like his memorial (and his wife's and his parents) just let me know. I always want family to have the memorials of their loved ones.
Sincerely,
Karen
