I live in Northern Indiana and am very interested in the Civil War. One of my hobbies is to visit the graves of Indiana Civil War Soldiers. To date, my dad and I have visited over 2,000 cemeteries and have found the grave sites of over 37,550 Indiana Soldiers, as well as some 9,300 soldiers from states other than Indiana. We have also located the grave sites of over 1,700 Confederate soldiers buried in the Hoosier state. I am also trying to find the grave sites of all of Indiana's Civil War Colonels. I am also interested in the 8th Indiana Infantry, Company I, and the 12th Indiana Infantry. I am also looking for every Chaplain that served in an Indiana Regiment in the Civil War. If you know of any grave sites you think I may have missed, or have some interesting information, don't hesitate to contact me. I am also working on a book about Indiana's soldiers that died during the Civil War. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are looking for a Hoosier that served in the civil war send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help in any way. Currently, I'm also trying to locate every Civil War veteran in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and upload them to Find-A-Grave. I am also a Christian, and look forward to life after the grave. Thanks.|

|John Sturgess||Rebecca Elizabeth Pearcy|
I'm a descendant of Henry and Mildred Pearcy. The Parents of Rebeccca Elizabeth Pearcy. I have both Elizabeth and John on the 1860 Census in Schuyler County, Missouri, and I have a John Trent with a common daughter but missing Elizabeth on the 1870 Census in Schuyler County. You have John's death date as 1862 here. Do you have any information that may help straighten this out.

Thank you very much for supplying his full name and additional information. I did find the application for his headstone on Ancestry and added a copy to his page.
Have a great day!

I don't Know where he might fit, but I would like you to look at this page for Eli McCarty. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McCarty-1922. He is buried in Ebenezer Cemetery in Daviess Co Indiana (see Find a Grave)
Also 3 Alford brothers from the same family were killed in the civil War from Daviess County, If you go to Indianahistory.org there are some papers available on the Internet about the brothers. They are all buried in the Alfordsville Cemetery. (See Find a Grave)
Lastly, I am wondering if James O'Dell, again from Daviess Co Indiana died in the Civil War. His wife,
Nancy applied for a widow's pension in Dec 1866. do you know of a James O' Dell who served from Daviess County?

You are right I hate to see the civil war markers being taken over by nature and most times at the neglect of the township trustee. I know of 6 other military markers in that cemetery that is in the same shape and some I could not get to it is so took over.
Have a great day
