Bio and Links
Bio Photo Thank you for all the condolences for Frankie Lee and the well-wishes after my injury last year.

Interestingly, we had an elderly, hungry "apple-head" Siamese cat appear while I was laid up last summer. After an unsuccessful bid to find his owners, we adopted Charlie on Thanksgiving 2016. He's a sweet boy and wants only to be friends with the rest of the tribe. As usual, the dogs were the first to extend a paw, and gradually the cats succumbed to his ample charms, one by one. I wonder if Frankie showed him the way? Well, they say when one door closes..........

My leg has healed spectacularly and my physical therapy is over as of this writing (June 2017). I walk a bit more slowly than I used to, but I'm walking and improving every day.

If you have the chance, please come and visit some of my listed Detroiters of Distinction who could use a token or two on their page.

Dr. Nicola Gigante - Our family doctor for literally generations. He delivered just about everyone born from the 20s to the 50s on my mom's side. He was a wonderful man and everything a doctor should be. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=174143810

Dr. Walter D. Pool - So after we moved from the old neighborhood to East English Village, Dr. Pool became our doctor. Who knew he was also a very important physician and did a lot of great stuff, like being the founder of the School of Mortuary Science at Wayne State University and being a pioneer in longevity studies. We could really pick great doctors, and Dr. Pool was fantastic! https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=155029238

Col. Frank J. Heckler - At one time Detroit had more single family homes than any city in America. You know why? This guy! He made it possible for working people to be able to afford their own homes with mortgages and land contracts when nobody else did. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=11578755

Louis Kamper - One of the premier architects of the 20th Century; you may be surprised at the number and quality of the structures he created. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=19095851

Jozef Julian Gwizdowski - Another superb 20th Century architect, not as well known, but very creative and accomplished. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSvcid=25927&GRid=29710601&

Dr H.(Jadwiga) June Kuczynski - Another health care professional who also brought a lot of children into the world, and lived an amazing life! https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSvcid=25927&GRid=24303997&

Mary Catherine Navarre Brevoort - And finally, a great lady of Old Detroit, a descendent of Henry IV who was captured by Indians during the War of 1812 and lived to see this little French settlement on the Great Lakes grow to a prosperous small city of 75,000. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=20235574

Thank you friends! Blessings to you and yours.

You information about the architecture he created was so informative on a cousin l knew nothing of. Thank you for your kindness and generosity for sharing the history. I learn of history through researching my family, as it is true.

As my grandfather's would say in response to your contribution of his obit... Danke Shoen.

I initially created this memorial to link he and his wife to his son, who served in the military... making the family "story" more complete. Your addition of his obit REALLY fleshes out our picture of him... and perchance opens the door for others to contribute. Namaste, "PJ:

RE: Fur Babies loved forever
All gifts that I give are freely given with no expectation of return, but Buddy loves bones so thank you for your kindness. Mollie, age 16, his pal of 11 years, just joined him at the beginning of November, so I know he's in good company.

I'm sure that Heaven is full of dogs and cats. They are far more loving than many people. It's the human beings that I often have my doubts about.

Merry Christmas, or whatever good greeting is appropriate for you and your furbabies!

Fur Babies loved forever
I can see from their memorials that you loved your beautiful feline fur-babies the way I loved my beagle-boy. He died just before your Roxanne so I'm sure he welcomed her to the bridge. If you want to see him, here is the link to his memorial:
