With much of my immediate family growing in and around the Washington D.C area for generations, I was never overly curious about family history. After a friend who was more interested than I found photos of relatives gravesites in other states who were born during the time of Andrew Jackson I was amazed. Even a marker for my grandmother's unnamed infant son which I had seen in home movies had been photographed by someone.|
I am most familiar with DC area's, Holy Rood, Arlington Cemetery, Oak Hill and Cedar Hill Cemetery on Pennsylvania Avenue. I have taken many photos for my own enjoyment and for friends over the years, but realize others are often not so near.
Note also, feel free adding a photo to any of my memorials, as different time of day, light and opportunity may aid in clarity and appreciation to a loved one or researcher. The older photos on this site do not allow you to zoom in, plus digital cameras are much improved since the early 2000's.

Her maiden name is Paar according to obit, and I have linked to her mother (and to sister). Do you think Bell or Belle is her middle name?

Randy, deleted mine, so all done. Thanks, his wife Josephine was of my Hellen family, all from Calvert Co, MD originally going back to the 17th century. There are a number of Hellens in that cemetery, after a couple of branches moved to DC in later years.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had trouble with the Allmans. I'll put in a request to link her to her parents. I don't know much about her husband other than what I have from the Allman bible. I've been trying to link these people up, but they're scattered all over the place and some I don't know where they're buried.
This is what I have which is incomplete in case you're interested. I don't know if there are memorials for these people.
Julia A. Allman (b. 4 Oct 1856) is the daughter of: Daniel Allman (1832-1915) and Julia O'Brien Allman (1831-1914). She married John William Collins (b. abt 1853 in DC)
Sister Mary Joseffa Collins (1888-1966)
William John Collins (1890-1928)
Daniel John Collins (1892-?)

Can you please add Daniel & Julia Allman to John A. Allman below. They are John A. Allman's parents. I don't need the memorial transferred because they are cousins to me. Thank you.
Daniel Allman (1832-1915) # 42664702
Julia O'Brien (1831-1914) # 42664705
John A Allman (1868-1908) # 162257675

Can't thank you enough for the couple pictures of the markers for Francis, Ann, and Mary McNally at Mt Olivet.
Francis died May 9, 1873 from complications to a head injury received crossing the chickahominy creek during battle 10 years earlier in the Civil War. He and Ann (Burns) McNally had 6 children. Mary was one of those children. Mary died in an elevator accident in 1907 which can be found by searching google for Mary Beatrice McNally. having never married she was buried with her father. Ann was born in Belfast, Ireland on 2 Feb 1846 and had 3 sisters who all lived and died in Brockton, MA after having left the DC area in the 1880's.
Rick Sitte, Great Grandson to Francis.
Thank you for the link to Sallie's husband. Would you like to maintain the memorial?
Your help is appreciated,
