Reece Clifton memorial
I created a memorial for his father: #175807787 and wondered if you would connect Reese to his father's memorial.

Dr. Jesse Crawford Luter, Jr.

While doing some research on the 2nd wife of Jesse Crawford Luter, Sr. (26088390), I found your memorial for Dr. Jesse Crawford Luter, Jr.(21005719). Jesse Jr. may be the son of Jesse Sr. and Sr.'s first wife. I just thought you might want to know.

Hope you had a great Christmas and hope you have a Happy New Year.

RE: Pates
Gwen, I had my mothers brothers DNA done before he died several years ago. I moved his marker to the 111 marker. His name is L. Aubrey Pate. Everything started comming back with the McCain name or some form of it. So, we feel that either John Pate, Sr. or Drew Pate's name was McCain. Back to the 1750 to about 1800 is the time frame for the name change. We do not know if Drew Pate could have been adopted or if Anna had Drew by a McCain before her marriage to John Pate, Sr. Or, if John Pate Sr. was orginally a McCain. There could be several reasons for the name change. I am trying to trace the Hugh McCain line back to our Pate line. We start with John Pate, Sr., Drew Pate, William Robert Pate, John Daniel Pate and my mother, Norma Lee Pate (Olen Daris Wilson). Then to myself, Virginia Wilson (Bailey). We had always heard that we had a name change either with John or Drew. I will send you more information later on.

RE: Nancy Pate West
Gwen, I wanted to take a photo of all my relatives graves that I could find. We just missed their markers somehow. Thanks for the information. We went to the library and courthouse but did not find a lot of information. I really enjoyed looking around Wayne County. I am still trying to find out how the McCains became Pates. I have been doing a lot of research and have gotten some replys back. But, nothing to help me!

Nancy Pate West
Arrington Cemetery:

Gwen, I went to Wayne County, Mississippi back in October 2016 to do research on my Pate Family. I went to Arrington Cemetery and could not find the graves of Stephen West and his 2nd wife Nancy Pate West. Do you know of any reason that their tombstones should not be in this cemetery? My husband and I went row by row twice and could not find their tombstone. Their tombstone is shown with a memorial on Find A Grave. If you know anything, please let me know.

Thanks, Virginia Wilson Bailey
