Secretary, 487th Bomb Group Association
I am researching the 487th Bomb Group of the 8th U.S. Army Air Force, which was stationed at Army Air Forces Station 137, near the village of Lavenham, Suffolk, England during World War II. My uncle Roy Webber served in this Group in 1944. I am working with other members of the 487th Bomb Group Association to honor all veterans of the Group.

RE:Lt. Sherrill
Dear Paul,
I'm glad I stayed up as I did more digging and found that Lt. Theodore I. Sherrill was actually the grandson of Winfield Scott Sherrill (#116516296) and his 2nd wife, Mary Ann (Speer) Sherrill (#49289046), both of whom are buried in Montana. I am submitting corrected edits to the manager of the memorials, just didn't want to give out incorrect information. Take Care and again, Thank you for the work you do on Find a Grave on behalf of our veterans.

RE: Theodore I. Sherrill
Dear Paul,
Initially I thought I was related to Lt. Sherrill, but after doing more research on his family, realized that I am related to a different Joannah (Robinson) Sherrill, who is this gentleman's great grandmother. She (#116515923) is a daughter of a David Robinson who has been confused with "my"David Robinson, who was a native of North Carolina. Joannah and her husband, Jacob Taylor Sherrill (#116515873), were natives of Tennessee who moved, 1st, to Missouri, and then, following the War Between the States, to Montana. My Robinson relatives remained in North Carolina all of their lives. I'd already found most of Jacob and Joannah Sherrill's children, however, so have been trying to link them to their parents before going back to attempt to find my relatives.
Lt. Sherrill is the grandson of Millard Fillmore Sherrill (#116515953) and his 2nd wife, Mary A. Sherrill, whom he married in 1892; one of their sons was Theodore Ernest Sherrill, the father of Lt.Theodore I. Sherrill.
My father was a World War II veteran who was shot down over the Pacific Ocean and one of two crew members to survive long enough to be rescued by an Australian ship, or I wouldn't have been born! I have strong feelings for WWII veterans, both those who made it back alive and those who did not; I have tried to sponsor many of them as it bothers me to see ads around their memorials. I try to do a few per month when I have the money as they are only $5 each. I got kind of carried away last month around Memorial Day, but figure I used to spend lots more each month when I smoked (I quit in 2007), so just do it when a memorial touches my heart. I also like to sponsor pioneers, relatives and people I feel should at least be honored via sponsorship.
Thank you for all of the long hours you have spent researching these brave men and women who were indeed America's Greatest Generation.

Thank you for your edit request. His death location is listed only as Germany since I have received other edit requests for differing locations due to his death being a result of the plane being hit in the air during the mission over Hof and ultimately exploding and crashing several miles away. This is all noted in the bio.

Charles Haney Pictures
Hi Paul,
Thank you for responding to my text regarding request for pictures for Charles Haney. Since this Charles was born in 1904, I don't think that he is related to me.
I appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Barry Hogrefe

RE: Leah (Block) Miller
Paul,

I'm not related, just connecting people to their relatives as I find them. When I find maiden names, I usually can find the parents. This was one case where they were also in Find A Grave in the Worcester area. No transfer necessary. Thanks.

Jeff

I am afraid not. Best of luck! Would you like me to transfer her to you in case you find more information? More than willing to do so.
