Bio Photo Nearly all my life, I have been surrounded with something concerning an ancestor. My mother was in DAR and my dad was in SAR. As kids, we spent a lot of summer vacations in cemeteries...I loved it! When my parents were living, I wasn't that connected to what they were doing. After they were gone, I decided to expand that single limb from myself to my Revolutionary War Veteran, to a full-blown tree that IS. There are many multiple births in my family, (Mom-triplet, her younger sister-twin, my older brother-twin, my paternal grandfather & his brother-identical twins), these being only a few. I am in search of the multiple births in my family tree along the way.

I am on and have striven to add photos to each individual there. When I found out about, I did find stones of my family.

Having done that, I felt that after so many years of receiving information, it was time to give back. That is why I have come to volunteer at Find A Grave, to assist anyone else that I can, in honor of those who have done the same for me.

Although, because of illness, I currently am unable to go out into the cemeteries and photograph monuments for others that I love so much to do, I look forward to the time that I'll be able to be back out there! It is such a wonderfully rewarding thing to do, to help someone "prove" a family member. Happy searching!!

RE: Rufus King and son, Jeptha King
I knew I remembered the name, but, have been searching for the 992 men who served in the 86th and for information about photographs of them for over 30 years now and don't remember how everyone is connected. Keep me informed of any new information or pictures that I should add to their sites. Thanks and Thanks for all you have done in the past to make these biographies what they are. Sincerely, Baxter

Rufus King and son, Jeptha King
Carolyn, I was glad to see someone had sponsored the Find A Grave sites of Rufus and Jeptha King. Are you related? I am hoping some family member will see these sites and help me establish where the mortal remains of these two men are buried. Hope to hear from you. Baxter

No problem. I understand how that happens. I only discovered the error when researching the Bainbridge area for headstones that needed cleaning or replacing. I am the president of the Whigham Family Association and we have made it our mission to clean and/or replace the headstones of our ancestors who have been dead for 100 years or longer. If I can ever help you out in the central Illinois area, feel free to contact me directly. Nancy

No problem. The cemetery is within 10 miles of me and I have a lot of family buried there. It's a nice peaceful cemetery that I love walking through.

Our pleasure! It was a great day; we went 35 for 35 on requests, plus many more family members. So glad we could help.
