The year was 1937. The place Homestead, Florida. My mom experienced a severe pain on the 29th day of May that year. Dad drove her to an old wood frame house which had been converted into a hospital. Dr. Smith was there and did me a good deed by bringing me into this world. My parents thought that I was just the greatest child ever. I happened to be the fifth child born to Cluria and Annie Bell. Hazel, the first born, died when she was one and a half years of age from eating pecans. Daddy's sister was there cracking the nut and feeding her the meat from the nut. Dad arrived home from work and Hazel ran out to meet him. That's when a part of the meat went down her windpipe which finally killed her after a few days. The second born was a boy. He died at birth. Then my second sister was born (third child), my third sister (four child) and then me (the fifth and of course the best). After me came four more. Their gender: 2 M and 2 F. As I write, seven of us are still living. The oldest was born in 1932 and the youngest in 1950. We are all Christian folks who love the Lord and are thankful for each day's blessing. God's grace and love have provided me with a permanent home with Him. You see my life here on earth will not be in vain because Jesus provided me the way to have eternal life with him so I chose to accept that way. |
Genealogy study has taken much of my time and effort over a period of twenty years plus. Some ancestors seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth, but with help from many, the puzzle pieces are slowly coming together. Genealogy is my interest and puzzle pieces are my game. Love in Christ ...

about Mossie Garrett
Name: Mossie Garrett
Spouse's Name: Lennie C Garrett
Divorce Date: 1928

Was the divorce I was referring to in previous message. Although, they show up on following census living together. Which is a puzzle.
Thanks for answering so quickly.

Mossie Caroline Jones
married Lennie Charney Garrett Abt 1921 and who died in 1940. (Family Search has a submission for their marriage of Feb 24, 1921 in Bristol, TN.)
Mossie Caroline Garrett
married Wilmot Nelson Summerall in Polk County in 1947.
Actually, there is a divorce listed for Lennie Charney Garrett and Mossie in Hernando County, 1928; however, they are found together in subsequent census.
The surname of Summerall brought me to her.
Great Bio thanks for posting Mr. Cowan's memorial
