<----Great stone right, Artist in Chicago made this as his gravestone, I saw it, and I had to use it as my profile photo. |
Just went past the 7500 mark in photo requests fulfilled, lots of miles on the feet, but worth every second of it!
Use photos however you like on ancestry sites, your personal use, etc. If you want us to add a photo to a spouse's memorial, please request that through find a grave. We do a lot of work in the hot summer sun, or even winter cold finding these, at least let us get credit for it!! Please try and remember to request the person you are looking for and spouse at the same time, it makes it much easier for everyone!!
If you leave messages or questions on my member page, please monitor responses. We fill a lot of requests, so we get a lot of thank yous, which is great, but we may easily miss your question. If you have a specific question, you may want to just email us directly! Please also request any changes through the edits page,(top right) it's much easier, as we can just go in and hit accept!!
We also often hit cemeteries 100 plus miles away, in fact, that is what we mostly do, as many cemeteries do not get any type of representation, so we try and help out and get photos. Just mentioning that, because if you ask us to follow up on something, understand it may be very difficult, as these are normally 2 hours away from us in many cases. (we do try to photo surrounding family in most cases, unless we are just inundated with requests at a certain cemetery)

I want to thank you so much for what you do. I really appreciate your time and effort. Through your efforts, I now have been able to see their head stones. Again I want to thank you for the photos of my Uncle's stones.

Thank you for taking the photo of my Uncle's head stone.
|JM||WOW thank you, VanFleets!|
You are amazing. Thanks for all you do fulfilling photo requests and generously sharing your work with the community. Because of generous people like you I have discovered all kinds of amazing things about my family history. I'm impressed how many generous people on this site spend such a huge proportion of their time volunteering for people they may never meet. But you are generating tremendous good karma and good will in the world. This kind of generosity gives us hope in times of adversity. Thanks for all you do.

This is fun to see there are 2 Charlene/Charleen Van Fleets.
When we were visiting the cemetery and learned Matilda didn't have a headstone, mom & uncles had one made.

Charles Henry Van Fleet and Leona Elizabeth Milligan are my grandparents.
Both are buried in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas as is one of their daughters, Marguerite Milligan and John Curtis Lilly.
I lost all my data base (even my backups) so I was very excited to look at the information you have gathered. I only knew of information of descendants of Henry Munson Van Fleet.
When I visited the East Hill Cemetery in Palestine, we were told that Henry Munson Van Fleet was buried in the 'old' section where only large rocks were placed for a headstone and probably no way to ascertain which marker was his. That's all I think I know.
Thank you for keeping the Van Fleets up-to-date. My Mom, Charlene Mae Van Fleet Griggs turned 100 on January 10th, and would have loved to learned the information on her ancestors. She met Henry and Matilda as a young child but didn't remember anything further.
Again, thank you for your work. Pat

Thanks for the photo addition to a family record. For me photos make our Find A Grave memorials come alive!
|JMo & BMa||Memorial# 54991812|
Hello Van Fleets, you have a photo posted on Memorial# 54991812, which actually belongs not to the John Abel born in Scotland, but to the Jonathan Abel born in New York. He was a Chicago whiskey distiller.
The family members listed as buried in the same location match up to Jonathan and the headstone - they are Sarah, Harry and Ida. You do have the photo posted to Harry and Ida and their names are on the stone. Might you please remove the photo from Memorial# 54991812 and add it to Jonathan's (# 170697869) and his wife Sarah's (# 167572198)?
Thank you and also for all the generous work you do on Find A Grave!
