Bio Photo Hi, I am Billy .......
(Last updated 16 Dec 2012)

Due to my Dad's death, I have taken over my dad's work on the Womble Family Tree. The Family tree goes back to the 1600's when the Wombles(Wombwell) came over from England to Virginia.((( Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Thomas Wombwell who settled in Virginia in 1648 ))) Sometime in the early 1700's the Wombles move to Edgecombe County, NC.

Edgecombe became a County 1741
Nash become a County 1771
Wilson become a County 1855

These are the 3 main Counties for the Womble
(The early years) ....
John Womble b.1756/d.1821

OFF of John William Womble b.1837/d.1904:
There are very few "Womble" (name Womble) left in Edgecombe County from the blood line. There is a lot of, next to kin, still there farming the home stead.

The Family Tree is not just of the Womble but it goes in all direction. You can follow the links I made on Fine A Grave. My dad did not take pictures of any headstones. SO, since I am out there anyway, why not take pictures of other headstones.

The County I will be going to is Harnett, Johnston, Wilson, Nash and Edgecombe, all in NC.
These are the main Counties.

I made this line for family members who would like to trace their family ancestry.

ON TRANSFER:

I prefer you to send me information on Find A Grave Memorial. Once I know there is an interest on that person, I will add the information and add some other information that I can find and sometimes I will start a family member search.(Trace their family tree) I love doing this and I do this for free.

Please do not ask for a Transfer just to own it.

Jessie Hawley
Billy,

I don't believe James Hawley b. 2/10/1867 d. 4/24/1933 that is buried in Upper Black Creek Cemetery is the son of Harris & Zelphia Hawley because Harris died sometime in 1860, per the Petition to the Courts for Assistance by Zelphia. If I am incorrect, please don't hesitate to let me know for I have been looking for Harris's parents for 25 years.

Thank You,

Cora 7/13/2017

Womble family/Mercer house
I am doing research on the John Routh Mercer house in Edgecombe County, and working with the current owner Deborah. I wondered if you had any pictures of the house or if the house is in the background (similar to the picture of the 4 Womble children that you posted on the CWT Womble page.) I am also interested in the family background stories you have (home purchased by CD for CWT). Anything you have will be helpful. Thank you!

Farrow Nathaniel Cooper Memorial #51890062
Hi Bill, Thanks for adding the William B. Cooper family cemetery to findagrave. I have a correction for you to add to memorial #51890062, Farrow Nathaniel Cooper (Pharoah Nathaniel Cooper). Farrow was married 7 Oct 1897 to Lizzie Creekmore, Memorial #163383671 she is buried in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. I requested their connection as spouses. Will you be so kind and make the correction to Farrow's marriage in his bio. Thank you for all you do.

James Leslie Pittman
I notice you are managing this man's memorial. I was recently came across the honorable discharge papers for him from his service in WW1. I saved the papers hoping to find one of his family members who might like to have them as part of their genealogical treasures. Are you related to Mr Pittman? Do you know someone who would like these papers?
